New Community Challenge/Easter egg hunt!


It's time for another challenge - This time I've snuck in a secret taunt that's for you to find and I've even added an achievement for finding it.

CHALLENGE


I've hidden something special in the game for the most dedicated among you.

Finding it won't be easy. This isn't a random drop. This is a puzzle. To trigger this secret taunt, a player must fulfill these specific conditions at the same time:

  • Be playing as a specific character.

  • Be standing in a specific location.

  • On a specific map.

  • Press the Taunt key and you know if you've done it or not. An achievement will be unlocked

HOW TO ENTER & RULES

    Update #23 - LIGHTS OUT - new nighttime map, gibbing and lots more

    Night struck in the new prison map causing a havoc!

    Fight your way through the darkness with your trusty flashlight or go full stealth with the melee weapons for some sneaky ninja plays!

    Now certain weapons make the opponent splat into pieces that scatter around - why not haha

    Performance overhaul


    I've spent a good bit optimizing the game so you should hopefully have no stutters and overall higher frame-rate/better performance.

    Weapon damage modifiers


    You can now tweak each weapon's damage modifier in the lobby, to allow for full custom games

    Balance changes & misc


    I've balanced a few of the weapons - made the pistol fire a bit faster and made the minigun way more accurate -

    Note that I've also rebound the default controls - Taunt is now T, flashlight is bound to F and chat is Y, all is rebindable of course as always.

    I've also fixed a ton of smaller issues & bugs, read the entire changelog below!

    • Fixed loading screen fading out too early in some cases

    • Fixed daily challenge unlock UI overlapping with the other unlock UIs

    • Fixed VIP gamemode not being shown as a gamemode in the server browser

    • Increased minigun accuracy

    • Increase pistol firerate

    • Fixed DLC supporter skins not being unselectable

    • Made nametag invisible in nighttime maps if flashlight isn't enabled (stealth much)

    • Made bots randomly use flashlight

    • Fixed a bug with the endgame screen not dissapearing

    • Made players able to move around and shoot during endgame sequence

    • Fixed that the "you died" UI got disabled if game ended

    • Fixed error handling on main menu if Steam isn't running

    • (Hopefully) fixed the game freezing when exiting from main menu

    • Added damage modifiers for all weapons - tweak your weapons damage multiplier

    • Added daily challenge for prison wins

    • Added Steam rich presence for prison map

    • Fixed a bug where the stat "NONE" would be added to the player & stat highlight screen

    Update #22 - New gamemode - new weapon - lots of changes!



    Big new update - This update includes a brand new gamemode I call "Eliminate the VIP", a new heavy LMG weapon, a internal stat/unlock overhaul and much more. Sorry for the delay, as some know I've moved into a new (my first!) house - so things have been a bit delayed!

    Eliminate the VIP gamemode


    Introducing a brand new gamemode I call "Eliminate the VIP" - Chase down and eliminate the VIP and you'll become it - now you must survive as everyone is out to get you! Earn points by staying alive as the VIP or by killing the VIP (and thus becoming it) Consider it like a solo capture-the-flag or a king-of-the-hill type gamemode.

    New weapon - LMG


    I've made a new weapon - the LMG! It's a big and heavy rifle that has a very high fire rate and high ammo capacity. However, you gotta stand still for it to become accurate, if you move it'll shoot all over the place! Think of it like a turret!

    Stat & unlocks overhauled - new UI


    The stat and unlock system has been completely remade! This means that you no longer have to wait for the end of the game to see your unlock progression, it'll happen instantly (same goes for Steam achievements!). Daily challenges now also reward exp - which they apparently never did before.. oops I've also added a new UI notification that pops up on the screen whenever you unlock something.

    Linux support


    Monday Meltdown is now fully and natively supported on Linux! If any Steam Deck users wanna try it out - please let me know!

    Misc


    A bunch of other small things where also added - read the full changelog below! I'm preparing up to release out of Early Access - so if you would like to wishlist the game (even if you own it), it will help build up the release! Thank you so much to you all reading & playing this!
    • Added the new Eliminate the VIP gamemode
    • Made VIP-overtake a stat and a daily challenge
    • Implemented the new LMG and added it to the tutorial (still possible sub 2-min, don't worry)
    • Added new skins for the LMG to unlock
    • Completely remade the stat tracking system
    • Fixed Steam achievements not unlocking immediately
    • Implemented unlock notification UI - now you know when stuff is unlocked
    • The player's health shader got slightly updated - thanks @slomoshun
    • Hid all the DLC/supporter mentions if you already own it
    • Fixed lobby settings not persisting between games
    • Added new daily challenges for LMG, matches played on map & VIP gamemode
    • Spiced up the main menu and the lobby with some slight follow-mouse on some UI elements
    • Made LMS weapon crate option be visible with the selected lobby options
    • Added a option to disable weapon switching in DM and VIP gamemode
    • Made the LMG become more and more accurate if you stand still and hold fire
    • Fixed some scoreboard UI that allowed for wrapped text
    • Added Linux support! - Steam Deck users, let me know how it goes!
    • Updated credits & removed the "awarded at end of the game" for daily challenges.
    • Made some backend work on the gamemode system, more things are possible now
    • Added the LMG to lobby weapon whitelist
    • Fixed an issue where the weapons would rotate slower based on framerate
    • Few smaller fixes in regard to Linux support
    • Performance should be increased as sprites are batched correctly now

  • NEW UPDATE - map changes - new achievements- Supporter DLC!



    Level tweaks


    Latest update includes many new tweaks - some bigger some smaller. For instance, I've redesigned the junkyard level to be more rectangular instead of squared. Seems like rectangular levels plays better due widescreen and the 2D perspective. (Hopefully, let me know)

    Achivements


    I've added 3 new achievements for you guys to unlock, I hope you enjoy them! One of them contains a new secret player skin, let the search begin! Remember to bring your tools.

    Other improvements


    I've improved the scoreboard to better show more player information, including other player's ping and a few other small/minor tweaks. The healthkit killstreak also now "overheals" the player - and a particle plays if overhealed

    Audio overhaul


    On the sound/music side, I've gotten help from the good Thomas Carnell (loktarg on discord), and he's given the whole game a music overhaul. This means all the sounds are now mixed better, normalized in volume and overall just more refined. To go along with this, I've made a new sound play when you kill another player - this can however be disabled in the sound settings.

    Supporter edition DLC


    Alongside this update - comes a new DLC who those who wants to support the game. The DLC can be found here It's ofc fully optional and it contains only cosmetics like new player skins/taunts/weapons etc - thank you to anyone considering supporting me and the game. For a full changelog - read below!
    • Added support for DLC content
    • Reworked scoreboard & UI
    • Remastered all the audio & sounds - all volumes are blending together better now
    • Added new kill-confirmed sound and a options slider
    • Added 3 new achievements!
    • Reworked how internal error handling happen (ie if you start the game without Steam running)
    • Fixed bugs with some stats not counting towards unlock
    • Made the killphrases requiring 20 office & slaughterhouse wins be 10 instead
    • Made the sledgehammer have a charge up sound
    • Completely remade the junkyard layout and it's colliders
    • Added new secret player skin that player can unlock (also an achivement)
    • Added ticksound to lobby countdown
    • Complete audio overhaul - every sound now goes through a virtual mixer to allow for better mixing/mastering
    • Added an overheal functionality to healthkit killstreak - and overheal particle

    HUGE UPDATE - New map - Complete weapon overhaul - MANY new skins - secret level


    Probably the biggest update yet - New maps, new secrets, new weapon visuals, new skins, new challenges, full controller support, and so much more!

    New map


    I've made a new level called Junkyard! It's inspired by a map from a very popular franchise, let me know if you see the resemblance! It is roughly the same size as the slaughterhouse map yet less open.

    Controller support


    The game now features full controller support! (not much else to say, but it was a big task haha)

    Complete weapon overhaul


    Every single weapon in the game has been remade (by an awesome user on Discord, @CPU) - and to go along with it I've remade all the reload animations! Alongside this, I've decided (followed by a community poll) to entirely scrap weapon attachment unlock in favor for fully fledged weapon skins. So now also, every weapon has skins you can unlock for them! (Ofc also with fancy reload animations)

    Secret level


    I've added a secret level - let me know if you get to play it, though don't go too insane trying to look for it.. maybe just a little manic is all Read the full changelog below! (it's a big one)
    • Added full controller support to the game (and controller rebinding)
    • Added new map Junkyard
    • Added new secret map
    • Added new weapon sprites and implemented 2-3 skin variants per weapon. (LOTS)
    • Remade weapon skin system entirely
    • Fixed a bug where the stat "NONE" would be added to the player & stat highlight screen
    • Fixed some missing stat labels
    • Stopped weapon projectiles from destroying when player died
    • Added afterlife kills & challenges

    I need your guys opinion - Attachments vs skins - poll in description!

    A recurring problem/consideration for me has been the conflict between a weapon skin or a weapon attachment. Should I remove weapon attachments completely in favor for weapon skins? (For the weapons that already have attachments, a fully kitted out version will be available as a skin instead!) REASONING: I don't feel like the attachments are the worth the grind - 5 kills without dying etc for a scope and such Feels like it would be cooler getting a weapon variant skin or a fully kitted out skin (ie a skin with lots of attachments) PROS: Better weapon variety - the m4 can suddenly get a AK47 skin or a Scar skin. All the weapons that currently have attachments are able to get new skins. CONS: New players will have it harder to distinguish guns - might be confusing suddenly seeing a player with AK when you don't have such. All the current weapon with unlockable attachments won't get any new skins added to them..

    MASSIVE UPDATE! New weapon - Daily challenges - unlockable kill-phrases & more!


    Big new update - This update includes a brand new daily challenge system with cool new challenges, a new lever action rifle that can ricochet its shots and do headshots, a new kill-phrase system to further dominate your opponents and much more!

    Lever action rifle!


    Say hello to a new friend in the one-shot-reload lever action rifle! Aim carefully as it deals headshot damage - and if you miss it'll ricochet its shots!

    Daily challenges


    I've made a brand new system to allow for 5 daily challenges - these vary from kills, headshots, to stuff like taunt kills and revenge kills, longshots, close range kills and so on!

    New player killed UI


    I've improved how the game shows you got a kill, double kill and so on. It's now tied to the cursor and stacks up in a queue.

    Kill-phrases


    You can now unlock kill-phrases that's displayed on your opponents screen when they die. May you tilt your friends even harder now.

    Misc


    I've updated the dualies (akimbo pistols) so they fire sequentially instead of simultaneously - this helped the reliability of them. The character skin unlocks has also been adjusted to be more spread a part - their level requirements is now higher. I've also added a new taunt that I found pretty funny & fixed a tons of bugs!     • Resized a bunch of the lobby's unlockables
    • Fixed a bug regarding the death effects playing for an alive target
    • Darkened the mainmenu & lobby background a bit
    • Fixed some cases where stats weren't tracking properly
    • Rebranded most of the Steam page with fresh images and new logos.

    KILLSTREAKS - Achievements - Pistol headshots - new skins & challenges - netcode



    Latest update is a again massive one - It includes a killstreak system where you can unlock insane & powerful weapons (did anyone hear a chainsaw?) - It adds headshot multipliers for pistols, Steam achivements and tons tons more!

    Killstreaks!


    Unlock & equip your favorite killstreaks - varying from defensive to (very) offensive ones! Pick your favorite, get kills without dying and dominate!

    Both the regular pistol and the dualies now deal a headshot multiplier - aim your shots and get rewarded with more damage.

    Steam achievements!


    You can now try and earn 16 brand new achievements I made for the game - some harder than others and some are even tributed to awesome community members! Always eager to hear some nice suggestions to some cool challenges/achievements - so let me know on the Discord or Steam forums!

    New skins


    I've added some new skins for the P90, the katana and the dualies! Unlock em' all! Furthermore I've fixed a few things regarding some skins etc and made it possible to have more complex unlock requirements!

    MANY tweaks and bugfixes


    I've been fixing a ton of bugs and tweaked lots of the internals of the game, this changelog is gonna be a big one.     HUGE UPDATE - Rocket launchers, weapon knockback, health shader and much more!



    Latest update is a massive one - it included a new explosive RPG weapon (and a skin for you to unlock ofc!) and tons of features & fixes.

    Player health shader!


    I've added a new shader for the player which briefly shows how much health the player has left - shown when player is taking damage. Look at the damage-blink and you'll see a red bar fill up representing the health left.

    Weapon knockback & core weapon change!


    I've added the ability for weapons to have knockback and introduced this for the double-barreled shotgun, the rocket launcher and the sniper rifle. Speaking of the sniper rifle, I've modified it to make it more viable. It can now be recharged and shot immediately after firing. I've also now made it so that weapons don't destroy their projectiles upon weapon switching, so no more projectiles going "poof" when getting/switching to a new weapon.

    Player dashing!


    I've added an experimental player dashing mechanic by popular demand - It's disabled by default and can be enabled in the lobby settings. Let me know if it should be a part of the game always, I'm still on the fence about it!

    LOTS of quality of life changes & balance tweaks


    I've been fortunate enough to get the game tested by some new people (Chet Faliszek!) who streamed a 8-man game, playing himself for the first time. Some issues became apparent so I've took the time to really focus on a lot of small things and features - lots of quality of life features. Kill notifications, up-scaling of some UI elements, new crosshair options & crosshair sizes, and general attempts at making stuff more clear! For a full changelog - read below!

    NEW UPDATE - Custom weapon selection, balance changes, fixes and more!



    Latest update include the ability to whitelist/ban certain weapons from last man standing & deathmatch - you can now annihilate your friends in a grenade-launcher-only battle. Furthermore I've added a UI notification for every time you unlock something so no achievements goes unnoticed. This unfortunately also means that everything you've unlocked so far will show as "new", hope that's ok! I've opened up the grocery store a bit as there was a shelf players kept getting stuck on, made doublekills for the mp7 easier, highlighted the tutorials walls further,added a new taunt (good luck unlocking that haha!) also and quite a few other minor changes & details! Also thanks to all the players who tried out the game when I attended the danish game-festival GameBox! Was great seeing you all enjoy the game. For a full changelog - read below!

    CONTENT UPDATE - Two new maps! New weapon skins and more!



    Latest update include TWO new maps - The slaughterhouse and a worksite!

    The slaughterhouse!



    This is the biggest map yet, people was requesting a bigger map, so I've made a big one where you can take your 8 player carnage to the next level! Splattering your opponents in an ever so fitting setting. This is also the first map to feature some moving map elements, I hope they fit in and don't become too distracting as I made the pig-on-hooks move on the rails in the map.

    The worksite!



    The worksite - this map is in-between the grocery store and the office level in size, very open yet easy to find cover. Maybe the workers forgot something you can find and unlock? Who knows Can't wait to get some feedback on both the new maps - let me know what you think and what I can change about them, let me know on the Discord! (join here - click me!)

    New skins!


    I've implemented some cool new weapon skins for the sledgehammer! I hope you catch the one that references one of my old favorite games. I've also made one of them be unlocked by a secret, let me hear if you unlock it! Furthermore I've modified the weapon attachment UI to include the weapon, so it's now much more clear what you're grinding to unlock.

    Balance changes & other tweaks


    It was hard to track when the player got a double kill, so I've added a visual indicator telling the player such. I've also re-balanced the time between kills for double kills, making them easier to get. I've also toned down the bots so they don't fire at you straight when you spawn. The bots now also taunt at you. The "Player" tab is now also renamed into "unlocks" to make it more clear. The office now also contains a new fan-art drawing/painting by @TheGoldenBananaPeel - check it out! For a full changelog - read below!

    HUGE UPDATE - New weapons! Complete weapon overhaul! New unlockable attachments!



    So, been a while since last update - I do apologize for that. However, that does not mean things haven't been cooking - introducing the biggest update yet!

    New weapon!


    There's a new weapon added to the arsenal, a P90! This gun has recoil that can be controlled, offering a satisfying way to spray down your enemies!

    Weapon overhaul


    Many of the old weapons now have gotten an overhaul! There's been voting going on on the Discord to which made the cut, so make sure to join it to cast your votes! (join here - click me!)

    Weapon attachments


    Weapons now have attachments that can be unlocked! They vary from silly ones to serious ones, and some even have a hidden unlock requirement! Flex your achievements by having some decked out guns! I've also polished the weapon system by adding some slight weapon movement animations to the weapons.

    New balance changes!


    As part of the weapon overhaul, I've modified the grenade launcher and the revolver! The grenade launcher can now be primed - hold in the fire button to shorten the detonation time. Time it correctly to avoid splattering yourself though! The revolver now does not deal damage to the shooter - makes it surprisingly good!

    Tons of internal changes & bugfixes


    Improved the stat system by a lot - unfortunately that means I've had to reset your progress. This is hopefully the last time. However, now I can make unlocks much more exciting such as "get 5 kills without dying", "do xx while yy" and so on. Every gamemode now waits a few seconds (with slow motion) when game is ending instead of the abrupt sudden gameover screen before. I also optimized some of the system, including decreasing the used bandwidth per player. Furthermore, a few bugs have fixed and possibly some new ones has appeared - let me know!     • Added the P90 - first weapon with controllable recoil!

    Taunts! - New progression & unlocks!



    Last update introduced the Bobs - this update introduces Bob's catchphrases! Taunt your friends and foes with short predefined chat messages that range from rage-inducing to flexing your speed running skills! Taunts are unlocked by completing different challenges, so do your best to unlock them all in order to ragebait your worst enemy to the max! I've improved the lobby so you easier can select map & gamemode, alongside removed the need for an extra dialog upon hosting a game. Furthermore, a few bugs have fixed and possibly some new ones has appeared - let me know!

    Meet the Bobs - Latest update includes brand new player characters for you to unlock! This is the first implementation of having proper player progression and paths the way for much more to come! (Weapon attachments, taunts, trails & loads of customization) The bots (bobs?) even got bobbyfied - no more killing BOT 912312! This unfortunately also means I've reset all you all's progress - you'll have to replay the tutorial again even. Furthermore I've polished the game up a lot by adding sounds, particles and fixing a ton of bugs! Read the changelog for a more in depth look at these changes, there's alot! (Finally no more katana-guesswork-spam-clicking) The tutorial is timed so try your best getting a highscore - make sure to post in the Discord too! Update also includes fixes to some of the more gamebreaking bugs alongside some quality of life changes!
