This patch simply overhauls the battle background system to give more area specific, custom, backgrounds. They are higher resolution and far more colourful and in theme with the rest of the game. I hope you enjoy. If you want to take a look you can view them on my blog @ warpedtales(dot)weebly(dot)com/ (you ned to replace the (dot) with a full stop!)

This patch adds some visual improvements and addresses late game balancing issues. * Added particle effects to the menu system. * Improved some of the game's base textures. * Enemies now level to the average party member rather than the highest. * Some of the late game spells have been strengthened. * Many enemies have been tweaked to make them more enjoyable to fight. * The 'Warped Tales' Splash screen has been removed as it was stopping some players starting the game.

For those of you eager to learn more about the upcoming DLC I have just made the storepage public where you can see some screenshots and learn more about the story! http://store.steampowered.com/app/591030 And you can see some pictures of the pet and enemies on my blog (which Steam won't let me post a link to) @ warpedtales(dot)weebly(dot)com ~ Beth

This patch addresses some of the feedback about the game's difficulty, early characters, and weapons/armours in Driftburgh. The bellow information contains story spoilers. * Added a difficulty setting to the options menu. It can be changed at any time. What does it do? Changes the way enemy level scaling works. On easier difficulties you are more likely to run into creatures 5-10 levels below your current one. * Added leveled skills to Gretel and Ratter. It was always our intention for Sophia to outstrip her companions which is why she changes them relatively often, but I understand that by the end of Driftburgh people were frustrated by the lack of progression with Gretel and Ratter. To this end I have added new affinities to these characters that are learned at certain levels. * Added new weapons and armour and weapon loot crates to Driftburgh and the surroundings. * Fixed a memory leak issue regarding enemy level progression. * Fixed other various bugs and typos.

This week I've been putting a lot of my time into finishing proof reading, and story testing the first DLC for Unhappy Ever After - Blood Tales. This new, large quest takes place in the 'The Warren' the only one of the Twelve Duchies that has been completely enveloped within the Ash Forest. For those of you interested in the geographical location I have put a link to our working-map below. http://i.imgur.com/Gz9Jv13.png An Overview: The post below will contain some spoilers; though nothing too serious, or that you won't find out within the first hour of the quest. It will contain main game spoilers however so if you've not finished the main game I warn you not to read on! -------------------------------- Uncertain of how Sophia will be able to use Doctor Gray's affinity stealing rod to take away the Emperor's mind control powers, without herself falling under his spell, Cassandra has sent out Tattered Flag members to search for any possible solution to this conundrum. In the far North of the sprawling Ash Forest lies 'The Warren', formally known as Filgellin. It is ruled by a small group of people that, the local townsfolk, call vampires. Once normal people who fell sick with the ash blight, they died... but there story did not end there. There bodies did not decay and many years after their deaths they rose again, all their past affinities lost but with new, powerful ones, and a thirst for human blood. As one of the strongest supporters of the Empire it was assumed that they too were under the control of the Emperor but according to Tattered Flag spies they have refused several of his summons to join his army, preferring to stay in the dark Ash Forest, even though the Emperor visited them personally. If they are able to resist his mind control then perhaps there secret can be discovered, and perhaps Sophia will finally be able to directly challenge the Emperor without falling under his control.

Firstly I want to say sorry for for the long response times on here and through email. I't's just myself working on this now. With the Proof-reading the first DLC, helping get a Greenlight Video ready for Sublime Games' 'Rune Monsters' - which Warped Tales has helped create and is publishing, bug-fixing, and making sure my 1yo daughter doesn't eat my keyboard I'm a little overwhelmed! Fortunately a missing team member comes back on the thirteenth so it's only temporary. ~ Beth ---------------------- COMING UP SOON --------------------- * Patch 1.0.0.5 - bug fixes and base assets for DLC * Sublime Games has been using the UEA base engine for the last year to create a fantastic little game called 'Rune Monsters' which they have asked us to publish for them. Greenlight campaign starts around the 14th. * FIrst UEA DLC launch! - Around the 20th * Riham's Tale - a small backstory quest concerning Riham.

This patch simply adds two options to the 'Options Menu'. One to disable weather effects, and one to disable fog effects. This should help considerably on laptops experiencing lag and on the few desktops with stutter issues.

Android users: please enjoy a version of the game for your phones. It is played at a lower resolution and with many graphical features missing. To play it you will have to install it yourself however... http://store.steampowered.com/app/584620?beta=0 Here are a few methods of installing an APK on your Android phone: there are more though. Google is your friend! https://www.maketecheasier.com/install-applications-without-the-market/

Another small bug squishing patch containing... Fixed some passage issues in the lava caves. Ratters helping people conversation has been correctly marked to only happen once. Power Gem text now wordwraps correctly. Fixed passage overlap near Rocky Ledge. Sludgelord clay now collects correctly for Pinocchio quest. Driftburgh escape route should no longer show up early. Fixed a bug where Matt can be repeatedly fought! Nepenthe and unknown slime description fixed. Small grammatical errors fixed. Text codes sometimes showing up, fixed. Fixed a bug where you could hand in Tattered Flag missions to both Jarred and Cassandra. Fixed an infinite process event causing memory issues. Thanks again to Ledeir, Thomnie2099, and Ramon for taking the time to report theses issues, and for surpassing even our eagle-eyed beta testers.

Another small patch to fix some small bugs. - Passable fences in Driftburgh fixed (for the most part) - Several small grammatical errors fixed. - Error fixed where wordwrap wasn't recognizing page breaks. Thanks to Ramon for his excellent folder of troubleshooting pictures!
This is a small patch to fix a few early game bugs. - Cracks in tombs are no longer passable. - Infinite looting of certain character fixed. - Fix to UI bug that stopp Gretel or Ratter's picture appearing. - Nepenthe intro scene flagged to work even if you've met Blue. - Bandits will no longer attack under certain conditions. Thanks to Ledeir for bug reporting!
