Structure System Rework - The Feature You\'ve Been Asking For!

\n\nAfter countless requests from the community, we\'ve completely overhauled how structures compete for resources on your farm. Previously, structures would race to grab items, leading to frustrating situations where some structures would dominate while others sat idle. \n\nNow, structures fairly divide available items between themselves! If you have 10 wheat and two mills that each want 5, they\'ll both get exactly 5. If you have 7 wheat and two mills, each gets 3-4 in a fair distribution. No more fighting over resources - every structure gets its proportional share when items are scarce. \n\n

The Final Early Access Update Thank You!

After two incredible years of Early Access development, this is our final update milestone before version 1.0! From now on, well no longer use numbered versions and will instead refer to this simply as the Early Access build. We\'re shifting our focus from adding new cards and content to polishing the game for its full release.\n\nThis milestone wouldnt be possible without you, our amazing community. MacOS: Black Screen Fixed (for real this time!)

\n\nIn the last update, we believed the black screen issue on Mac was related to the GameMaker compiler (YYC vs VM), so we switched to a DRM-free build without Steam achievements.\n\nTurns out the real cause was the refresh rate being changed during startup and thanks to a dedicated user named Ender, who provided tons of videos and helpful explanations, we were finally able to reproduce and fix it.\n\nSteam achievements are now fully back on Mac! \nThank you again, Ender you saved Mac players everywhere.\n\n

Important! Mac version is getting an achievement reset!

Weve made a major change to the Mac version of Terracards in response to the persistent black screen issue many players have reported since release.\n\nTo (hopefully) solve this, weve rebuilt the Mac version using a different compilation method. Previously, the game used GameMakers YYC compiler, but weve now switched to the VM build and made the Mac version completely DRM-free (since Steam is not supported in this compilation method).\n\nThis change should resolve the black screen issue, but it comes with an unfortunate side effect:\n[u]Steam achievements on Mac will no longer work. Instead, achievements will now be stored and tracked locally only.\n[/u]\nBecause of this, all Mac achievements are being reset in this update.\nWe know this may be frustrating, but we hope the improved stabilityand being able to actually play the game!makes up for it.\n\nFor the curious or technical, you can check out the original bug report I made in the GameMaker forums [MacOS YYC] \"Draw\" layer is simply black.   • The Good Planning achievement has been updated. Make sure to review the new condition!\n

  • Fixed a crash that could occur through the Perk Selection screen.\n
  • Addressed a memory leak when placing three or more structures on a single island. (Especially noticeable with the Centrifuge)\n
  • Resolved crashes caused by bunnies and wolves.\n
  • Fixed issues with Crab, King Crab, and Giant Sheep not consuming food correctly.\n
  • Fixed the Fisherman\'s Hut not functioning properly.\n
  • Corrected the display of animal costs in the \"farm information\" panel when hovering over structures.\n
  • Fixed the display of \"SAVE_THE_ANIMALS_CONDITION_3\" to show the condition correctly.\n

Update 1.3.1: A lot of bug fixes!

Hey there!

\nFirst of all, apologies for any inconvenience caused by the bugs and crashes in the 1.3.0 update. Due to the rewrite, there were a few specific actions that weren\'t thoroughly tested. Thank you for all the feedback and support on our Discord! We\'ve listened to your concerns and today, we\'re rolling out a new version (hopefully) addressing everything reported so far! \n\n

  • Fuel Infuser and Fisherman\'s Hut weren\'t working correctly. Fixed! \n
  • Crashes caused by Crow, Female Rabbit, and Corrupted Rabbit have been addressed. \n
  • Animals won\'t be able to swim in the Lake anymore! \n
  • Structures now give the correct amount of output! \n
  • Structures now only function if you have the necessary resources available. \n

  • The algorithm for solving combos has been rewritten, resulting in better performance and accurate results! \n

Update 1.3.0 is finally out! Enjoy the HUGE update.

Hey there, we\'re happy to announce that 1.3 is finally done and out! After months of work (a lot of work) we\'re releasing it today.\n\n

What\'s New?

\nThe game has been completely rewritten from the ground up (as you may have seen on the previous news)! We\'re now using GameMaker instead of Godot to improve the stability of the game and also its support to older hardware.\n\nWith this change, you can definitely expect smoother gameplay - say goodbye to the late-game lag!\n\nWe pointed some changes on the previous post, but let\'s take a look at those again:\n

  • The beloved nerd-mode is back! \n
  • Say goodbye to late-game performance issues. \n
  • A new Discover screen awaits for your read. \n
  • The game over screen now shows a lot of cool information! \n

Achievements!

\nThe most requested feature of the game is finally here! You can now get achievements. Not only that, but achievements becomes perks on the game, which can be used to buff your next run and completely change your gameplay!\n\n

Characters

\nYou can now choose between four different characters, each one with their unique gameplay-style and different starter hand.\n\nNote that you need to get some achievements before playing with those!\n\n

Modding

\nIt\'s not a \"real thing\" yet, but we started working on it. If you browse the local files of Terracards, you may see that we\'re exposing some files like \"plants.json\", \"animals.json\", \"structures.json\". Feel free to play with those, they\'re pretty self explanatory.\n\nA fully functional modding API will probably be released on 1.4!\n\n

What\'s next?

\nSome of you may notice that this updates (unlike previous ones) do not add to much content to the game, instead, we focused on bringing stability, performance and fixing annoying bugs that you guys related to us.\n\nThere are some new animals like Unicorn, Electric Chicken, Electric Rabbit but we didn\'t focus on content at all.\n\nSo expect more content on further updates!
