A new update has been released to Rivalhearts! Changes include:

• Created a new opening scene to Episode 1
• Added a new section to Erika's check-up in Episode 1
• Added a new guessing game to Amber's introduction in Episode 1
• Introduced blooper voice lines to Rivaldarts (only in the new opening scene for now)
• Moved the old Episode 1 opening scene to a later section in the episode
• Changed Katherine's profile picture on the Episode 1 phone to one of herself
• Changed Rivaldarts names to now be able to change per-dialogue if multiple names available
• Changed game archive files to now include source (RPY) script files
• Tweaked some of Noah's dialogue at the start of Episode 1 to better fit the new opening scene
• Tweaked some of Noah and Erika's dialogue together in Episode 1

As episode 2 comes closer to completion, we wanted to upgrade episode 1 based on feedback and hindsight! Episode 1 is the first experience a player has of Rivalhearts, so it's important for it to be as good as it can be; and we think we're nearing that mark now.   • Katherine's fiery personality? Fully realized!
• Added the ability to hide the UI while in an episode by right-clicking
• Added the ability to change episodes with the < and > keys (comma & period)
• Added Steam Timeline support officially and improved upon it
• Added Steam Remote Play on TV officially after being tested
• Added the game detecting if a player is on an older version and notifying if so
• Added an official "Playable" status for Steam Deck (Thanks, Valve!)
• Optimized game further for Steam Deck
• Improved the user interface
• Fixed Rivaldarts text appearing without an outline
• Changed the first scene's text in episode one to be less slow
• Changed text pauses to be a little faster
• Tweaked some dialogue

• Added the ability to load a save while in an episode
• Updated "Achieved..." notification flavor text to be more accurate to each girl's level of interest
• Updated some DevBox text

After over a year in development, the pilot release of Rivalhearts is now out! To celebrate, our artist Yuuki made a doodle attached wth the girls! Aren't they lovely? But, don't stare at it too long! There's a free game you can play now with full voice-acting, individually drawn scenes, cute anime girls to romance, and set in America at university, called Rivalhearts! Great news, folks! Rivalhearts is playable on the Steam Deck (unofficially for now). It's not perfect, as there are a few issues, but it IS fully playable! As for the main issues we encountered, it's just that the settings bars are not properly highlighted when selecting, and the pursue choice screen is janky to navigate with just the thumb sticks. While these are still possible with the thumb sticks, it would be best to just use the touch screen at those moments. There is also inconveniences when it comes to using the keyboard, but this is only relevant currently for renaming save pages. The keyboard will go away after first showing, so to bring it back just press Steam + X. As well, the keyboard may show up on top of where the text is being edited; this is fixable by just clicking the three pancakes UI button, which shifts the keyboard to the opposite side of the screen. That's about all we found that could cause a notable inconvenience when playing the pilot release. Thanks for reading!
