April Round-Up
Welcome to our April Community Update! Its been a month of events, and our Keepers were taking part in Steam events one after the other. Heres a quick summary of everything theyve shown up this month!
To celebrate Earth Day, the Keepers once again joined the Earth Appreciation Festival to display our work alongside many incredible titles. Just like Horticular, every game in the event shares the same passion and love for nature. The Keepers went to London (digitally) and took part in the London Games Festival 2025. There were many amazing titles, both released and upcoming. And our Keepers felt very honoured to be part of this amazing event!
This definitely came as a surprise for many (including ourselves): the Keepers snuck into the Lovecraftian Days Steam Sale! For a cozy garden builder, Horticular actually has some pretty on-point Lovecraftian elements, with an eldritch being spreading corruption and decay across the world with its minions. To make this event even better, for the first time ever, Horticular went on a 50% discount!
Its been a couple months since Frozen Frontier is out. Lets have a look at what our community managed to come up with the winter items and plants!
Heres one of the many submissions from mothic, who also streamed Horticular on his Twitch channel. Seems like he has taken quite a liking to boggier environments, with mud tiles scattered across his garden.
An amazing piece by ckjr a completely filled out garden in Frozen Frontier. The extensive forests provide excellent habitats for a wide range of critters, while the stone and wooden bridges connecting different sections of the map act as highways for Keepers to quickly traverse. And that sums up April for our Keepers! Horticular is a relaxing garden-builder that begins with mysterious gnomes summoning you. Their wish? For you to breathe new life into a long-lost garden, abandoned by its previous caretaker.
Enter a magical world where you build up and expand a lush garden at your own pace. In your journey, you attract adorable animals to inhabit every corner; uncover helpful upgrades; and assist quirky characters for rewards and story development—all while juggling decay and fending off corruption sent by your nemesis!
Build and expand the garden of your dreams with hundreds of unlockable surface types and items. You set the pace and what to do next, whether it be developing a new vegetable area, progressing a lucrative story arch, or just sitting back and admiring your creation.
Create and preserve animal habitats to attract adorable creatures. Each species has its own requirements to fulfill before they pay you a visit, so you have to plan ahead if you want them all. Should you not take proper care of your inhabitants, they may leave you in pursuit of better luck elsewhere!
Immerse yourself in your personal garden diorama, complete with a day-night cycle and weather effects. But while a rainy and lantern-lit evening may be cozy, it is not just for show! You will find that darkness attracts unsavory characters, some animals prefer specific weather conditions, and lightning strikes loom under stormy skies.
Nurture your garden with magic. Over time, you will have to deal with unhappy animals, garden decay, and corrupted agents sent by your nemesis. But with a combination of helpful gnomes and your own magical gloves, you are sure to keep an everblooming environment.
