Cauldrons of War - Stalingrad is an immersive 'command at the highest level' wargame with tough decisions to make.
Its clean mechanics and low complexity allows the game to focus on what is really important : strategical decisions.
There is no micromanagement here, but more depth than you imagine.
It was a promise, it is now done. Cauldrons of War Stalingrad being finished*, I've just pickup some of its new features to increase the CoW Barbarossa quality of life. So, What is new?

Hello, As promised, I will add to the game some of the features I am working on for Cauldrons Stalingrad. What's new : 1) Better looking maps 2) Meteo icons will now disapear when you hover an operation (for better visibility of the operations below) 3) A rework of the zooms mechanisms (you can now double click 2 times for a more progressive "zoom-in", and the max zoom have been increased) 4) The fog of War is less brutal (estimates of a unit's strengh will now be displayed instead of the "?") That's all for the moment ! What's Next ? Here is a list of the things I am currently working on for CoW-Stalingrad : (I don't know yet wich of these features will be retrofited into Cow Barbarossa...) -A better german AI -More unit traits -Some improvements in the supply actions -New actions for the units -New terrain types -Air force rework Also: I have amassed the documentation for a short Winter War 39-40 scenario with Finland, but I have no idea about when I will add it. The Cauldrons of War Stalingrad sequel is progressing well, and many features i am testing on it will end up in CoW Barbarossa.

That Edelweiss campaign will be the most difficult of the game (for the german) due to insane goals.
You have to pierce through strong soviet defences while the time is quickly running away and the OKW is taking your units away to support the advance toward Stalingrad.
The keys of that scenario are :
- Destroying as many soviet armies as you can in the steppe, before you reach the Caucasus mountains
- Carefully select your goals
- Adapt quickly to the many changing situations and swiching OKW priorities.
I will post regularly some contents about the game until the release.

What's new in this patch? You can now attack toward Rostov from Kharkov This is a huge change in gameplay. Rostov will be easier to take, but doing so, the Army Group South may be burdened with too many operations. As the Svir junction is accomplished, Finland HQ will be connected to southern operations You will be able to use your clever winter proofed finnish troops in some new places now. The 2nd german army is now splitable Really, i don't know why it was not the case earlier... Also in this patch : some minor text and bug fixes. In the last patch : -A rare but annoying bug in the soviet counter-strike in the Baltic is now corrected -Typos corrected -A cheat code system have been added Cheat codes : -They don't work on multiplayer (of course) -They can only be triggered from the map view -They can only be triggered once per session -They exist to help you explore deeper the game, more than to help you cheat Type simultaneously "C" for cheat and : -"P" to add 1 command point to each of your HQs -"T" to add 100 trucks to each of your HQs -"A" to add 10 planes to each of your HQs -"R" to recon all ennemy units (this one is unlimited) Have fun!
