8089 is a fully featured, open world action RPG featuring randomly generated items, customizable weapons, quests and enemies. Spawn into a colorful, wacky world with bugs running amok.

Play as you Want: Focus on certain skills like Guns, Melee or Stealth. Or, be a Leader with followers doing the work for you!
Lots of Special Abilities: Certain armor provides abilities, like Invisibility, Grappling Hooks, Teleporting, Bullet Time, Tether Beams and more...
Unique Loot Properties: Watch out, some drops might be infected! Also, if your Engineering skill is low, you'll have to Analyze what things do
Customize Equipment: Weapons & armor have module slots to program. Make fast-firing blasters, grenade launchers, deadly beams, explosive and homing shotguns...
Laser Swords: Feel like a powerful character in a famous movie series *ahem* reflecting shots and striking critical hits (especially in VR!)
Vehicles: Find scooters and flying ships to help get you around the world
Vast Terrain: Smooth deserts, rocky cliffs, roads, lakes, toxic areas (with better loot) & more to explore endlessly in all directions
Tricky AI: Enemies (and friendly units) group together, listen closely and convey information. Counter by paying close attention to your detection meter!
VR Support: Uses OpenXR (SteamVR runtime supported). Want to adjust your held angle? Comfort mode? Keybinds? Swap hands? All there in options!

8089 requires a Vulkan-enabled graphics card. VR only supported on Windows. Non-Windows binaries are provided but support is low.

v1.20: Bugfixes & Balancing

Fixed a bug that caused health packs to not accurately display how much health they would heal based on your Consumables skill
Slowed down the rate you heal from health packs to a constant 2% per second
Added a 15 second cooldown to reusing the Bullet Time ability
Quests will no longer fail if a target gets killed by something else (it will just be replaced)
Fixed a bug that caused meteors to not damage the player or other targets properly
