A grappling hook! Devlog

Hello! I decided to start putting devlogs here too, because why not. It's a great way of showing the games progress for anyone interested. Today I want to show a grappling hook, that I have been making recently. It did exist in this game before, but honestly, it sucked and it wasn't very fun. You can still see the old version of the grappling hook in the trailer of this game. This is what the grappling hook looks like now:

WHAT DO YOU DO IN IT?

Shifter is a fun rogue-lite game, where you can walk on walls and shift gravity. In Shifter, your dream gets hacked through a microchip in your brain. The hacker tells you, that you have to kill three main beasts in your dream world to wake up. When you die, the hacker kills you. After you die, you play as a completely new victim of the same hacker. The game is different every time you play, the world is generated randomly so that in every run, the game feels like a different experience.

WHY IS IT CALLED SHIFTER?

Because you can shift gravity by walking on the walls.

DIFFERENT WEAPONS

In Shifter, there are lots of different weapons from meelee weapons to guns.

3 AREAS WITH 3 DIFFERENT BOSSES

In Shifter, there are going to be three areas with three different bosses. In every boss fight, you have to somehow take advantage of the gravity-shifting mechanic of the game. Below is an example of one boss fight:
