Linux Version Update

Since launch, the Linux version of KIRO was a few versions behind the Windows version due to a bug in Game Maker Studio 2.3 which made it no longer possible to build steam games for Linux. Game Maker Studio released a new version today that fixes this bug so it is now possible to build the game for Linux. Today, I updated the Linux version so that it now matches the Windows version. Any new build for the game will be built for both Linux and Windows going forward so there should not be a discrepancy between versions. As a side note, I don't have a dedicated Linux build system and have to do all my testing on a VM which is not ideal so please let me know if there are any issues running the game on Linux (or Windows c:). KIRO is an indie developed real-time horror text adventure game in which you play as the elected KIRO of your town. The game plays in real time while your player is controlled with text command inputs providing a unique intense experience that combines modern action game play with classic text adventure games.

Gameplay:
  • Navigate the crypts beneath your town to destroy all evil within.
  • Type text commands and watch your player move in real-time.
  • Time your actions to defeat enemies with many different weapons.
  • The dungeon is randomly shuffled so playing twice in a row is completely different.
  • Contains multiple endings based on what actions you take.
  • Multiple steam achievements to earn.
  • Will you be able to handle the pressure and vanquish the evil below?
