Greetings fellow train lovers! Here comes our new update – and this time we have prepared something really special for you! First of all, we have implemented some important changes in Leaderboards. Now Global rank is not that intrusive, and you can just ignore it if you prefer. But if you do care about it, we have 2 more parameters to compete for: Funds (money earned in a particular level) and Real Time (real-life time you spent playing that level, considering downtime during pauses and 2x/4x game speed). Also, we added some nice charts with histograms showing the total number of results and your position. That should also make the balancing of workshop level times easier for its authors.
The second big thing is a new feature in the Level Editor called Store Production. It sends trains automatically every N seconds. These trains do not require your resources or workers, not even your locomotives – you just get an additional train to deliver and earn money out of it (check the new Workshop guide video for more details). This feature is pretty much inspired by the gameplay of the original Train Valley, and it can help you to set the pace of your levels. To illustrate how it works, we present to you our new workshop level called Canal. And we want you to experiment with this mechanics as well, so today we announce a new Levels Contest! The rules are simple: make a new level using Store Production as a part of gameplay. The most creative, beautiful, and polished levels will get great prizes: Train Valley 2 merchandise and Steam codes!
