Good news everyone! On the occasion of the TGS, we took some time add the Japanese language to the game.
Well, it's ready-ish. It's still a bit rough around the edges (one rarely-used font missing, a few minor bugs) so it is only available in a separate branch for now. More importantly, since we only have a basic understanding of how the language works (thanks Wikipedia), we'll need your help to ensure it's readable and enjoyable. The biggest change required was the dictionary system. Don't panic, the few mods already existing won't require any changes but since we had to support "dual words" for Japanese, we could also support the same kind of dual display for other languages. Let us know if we should spend the time to make it possible for someone to create his/her dictionary of "english & french displayed side by side" If you want to try it here's a small guide to branch switching: - In your steam library, right click on Epistory and then click on Properties. - Go to the tab called "betas" - Change the drop down to "japanese-beta". Known bugs: - One font missing (you'll see red XXXXX instead of words) - "Companion word" (the one showing the translation) displayed for too long on some items. - "Companion word" displayed for no good reason (e.g. on number chests) - Gameplay language in the options not translated when set to "Japanese" Thanks for playing!
