Discoveries and The Iron Era

There are new discoveries to find! Hidden throughout the world are forgotten areas that contain records of what inhabited them. Before, it was enough to recover a tablet or scroll to unlock new crafting recipes, but for some you must uncover clues from these lost places first. While chapter 3 is still in the works, the full set of iron armor and weapons is out. You'll only find the iron you need under the forest in explore/multiplayer mode, but iron may creep back into existing parts of the world. Recipes to give you more options when cooking food have also been added. This update integrates the game further with controller support using Steam. If you've had controllers that didn't work quite right before, they may now. Big Picture support has also been added, the game is aware when you use it and lets you do things like reach the Steam controller configuration menu from inside the game. The engine running LandTraveller has received several performance upgrades and may run smoother. The actual speed of everyone has been increased as well. Remember, your enemies will be moving faster too! - [NEW] Information about a new weapon mod can be found if you discover the Battery Temple - [NEW] Added the Magnet orb that damages enemies near you automatically while your energy lasts - [NEW] Find the Desert Brewery to discover a useful tintcure - [NEW] Added Sun Beer, an ancient style beer you can brew. Don't drink too much - [NEW] There's now a Calm Oasis somewhere with hints on creating a new type of passive orb - [NEW] Added the Wave orb which lets you unleash quake damage into the ground with a hammer, or through the air with a sword - [NEW] Can now mint coins from metal, but you'll need to find the Lost Mint first to learn how - [NEW] Added the Cult Crater as a discovery, this one is a bit harder to find but the reward might be worth it - [NEW] Added the Ancient Fort as a discovery, it holds knowledge to something useful for special attacks - [NEW] Added the Moon Platform as the first discovery, once you find it recovering the unique tablet should be easy - [NEW] Some knowledge will now be initially hidden and you'll have to reveal it by finding clues in the world as discoveries - [NEW] Added old meteors to find in the first area - [NEW] Added the Egress technique. Techniques are orbs you use in your hands, this one send you back to the last rested location - [NEW] Added the Bloomery as the furnace for processing iron in - [NEW] Added the Sconce to provide more light than the existing lit sticks - [NEW] Added the Iron Pick, the first one to damage stone blocks more - [NEW] Added the Iron Chest with more capacity than before - [NEW] Added the Iron Boots, the Iron Visor and the Iron Gauntlets - [NEW] Added the Iron Anvil and the Iron Armor - [NEW] Added the Iron Sword, Iron Axe, Iron Arrows, Iron Spear, and Iron Mace - [NEW] Added the Tough Cloth and Glue as the next rank of basic crafting materials - [NEW] Can now make Cactus Juice, an item to restore EP with easier to find material - [NEW] Can now learn to make Pikken Stew and the Mushroom Stock needed for it, a stronger healing item - [NEW] Can now learn to make Aneth Tea, a stronger item to restore EP - [NEW] You can now find recipe notes sometimes in item boxes that teach you a new random food recipe when used - [NEW] Added Aneth Grass you can grow and consume for 1 EXP, however, it grows very slowly - [ART] Improved how characters use hammers/picks and lined the striking animation up properly with breaking blocks and props - [QOL] The Steam Controller API is now supported, Steam makes you use Big Picture mode to configure controllers - [QOL] Mentions of your character's name in chat will be highlighted and will notify you if your game is alt-tabbed - [QOL] Added notifications in the system tray if you get targeted or attacked while the game is alt-tabbed (Windows and Linux only) - [QOL] Adjusted the crafting menu to fit more on screen at once and removed the clutter from other things while the menu is open - [QOL] Added markers near edges of the map where you can travel to other maps to prompt you where and how - [FIX] Fixed a bug that was possible with item drops over multiplayer if one user drops an item while on a different map from another user, leading to potentially undefined behavior - [FIX] Fixed a bug where resistance wasn't reducing damage taken from special attacks (the fire fur clothes still had fire resistance, so it wasn't noticed before) - [FIX] Fixed an issue when trying to examine props or talk to NPCs near places you can travel to other maps from, causing you to travel instead - [FIX] The server was not updating sunlit/other information about newly placed blocks resulting in various bugs (like NPCs not moving in when they should) - [FIX] Fixed a bug where people and enemies on other maps could still prevent players on different maps from placing blocks in some situations - [FIX] Fixed the bug where bosses were able to somehow escape the arena, it was even possible for you to end up fighting two of the same boss at once - [FIX] Fixed EP and HP gains not showing up in multiplayer when using imbued weapons (you were still actually getting HP or EP) - [FIX] NPCs who were left homeless, but exist in an unloaded zone will no longer prevent new NPCs from moving in - [FIX] Fixed a bug in the crafting menu if you scroll all the way down while the filter is ALL and then changing filter, getting the scroll stuck - [FIX] Fixed a bug where your respawn location can be reset in some situations when replaying different seeds - [FIX] Fixed a bug where trap damage or healing bubbles could apply twice - [ADJ] Adjusted the value of copper, silver and gold ingots and made it so they're always bought and sold at the same price - [ADJ] Performance of querying object traits has been improved with a surprisingly large impact in some previously slow situations - [ADJ] Performance of culling offscreen agents has been improved - [ADJ] Performance of audio synthesis improved slightly when FM voice channels are used - [ADJ] Performance of loading/saving game data has been improved - [ADJ] Performance of rendering the world has been improved in locations without emissive blocks present - [ADJ] Clay can now be crafted with only 2 sand and 1 water (it was previously 6 sand) - [ADJ] Increased the attack speed of all the heavier hammers - [ADJ] Shopkeeper NPCs in story mode will now refresh the amount of money they can buy things from you every week - [ADJ] NPCs now refresh their trade/store stock once a week (a week is 7 days in the game world) - [ADJ] Increased the drop rate of Clear Gel, you're going to need it - [ADJ] Enemies will now appear more consistently, its less likely for a newly generated world to remain empty for a while - [ADJ] The speed of everyone has been increased, this includes enemies - [ADJ] Difficulty rating has little to no effect anymore (it once did years ago) so it is removed entirely - [ADJ] Increased the drop rate of healing bubbles
