X-Plane 11 is the detailed, realistic, and modern simulator you’ve been waiting for.
And it’s coming soon to the Steam platform
New in X-Plane 11
A completely redesigned, intuitive user interface that makes setting up and editing your flight a breeze.
Consistently usable 3-D cockpits and stunningly high-resolution exterior models for all included aircraft.
A new effects engine for lighting, sounds, and explosions.
Realistic avionics: all planes are IFR-ready right out of the gate.
Busy, “living” airports with pushback tugs and roaming fuel trucks, able to service both your aircraft and the simulator’s AI planes.
New buildings & roads to better simulate European cities
…and more!
The team has been working hard since the release of X-Plane 11 to bring you the first big feature update. We are including tons of new art, objects, airports, physics improvements, new avionics, game controller profiles, and a myriad of minor tweaks.
A word of caution: This is an opt-in Beta. The new version includes literally thousands of changes to the physics, the rendering engine and other sim components. It is likely to contain bugs that we haven't seen on our machines, that might cause your recreational flight be cut short by a hard crash. So only join the beta program if you are interested in helping making the sim better, and report bugs.
If you are unsure what being a beta user entails, please read our guide on Beta Testing 101: http://developer.x-plane.com/2017/10/beta-testing-101/
Do not join the beta if you disagree with the suggestions given there.
If you are fearless (or foolish) enough to join the beta, here's what's in it:
-534 new airports
-tons of new autogen art for more variety in the scenery
-new objects for airport designers to work with
-London joins Las Vegas as the next city with landmark objects/buildings
-game controller profiles allow you to assign different controller settings to different aircraft
-G1000 flight deck for Cessna 172 and Cirrus Jet
-improved physics of rotor and prop wash, ground effect, wing flex, extreme AOAs
-improved simulation of many cockpit instruments and aircraft systems, such as electrical generators
-tons of other stuff! For the full list of all changes, please see the release notes: http://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-11-10-release-notes/
