Description

Polygod is a rogue-like, randomly generated FPS where you are an assassin known only as "Faceless the Blessed". You must battle the minions of malignant Gods and their Holy Champions in an epic event known as the Trial of the Gods. Each level is randomly generated and features successive Altars of Worship where you exchange your Souls for Blessings (which are like power ups). Blessings combine and stack to create unique effects which will help you survive the brutal challenges in your quest to attain Godhood. In the PolyGod universe, death is necessarily permanent but with each new game comes a unique first-time experience. The art style is inspired by the meta-physical surrealist artist Giorgio de Chirico who is famously revered for his eerie mood and strange artificiality of cityscapes.

Polygod also features Arena Shooter multi-player with randomly generated maps and a variety of planned game modes. Currently in Early Access, players can play free for all matches on randomly generated maps where the first person to a set number of kills is the victor. Future planned game modes include team death-match and a variation of capture the flag, involving altars and blessings.

Bug Fixes and Quality of Life

Today's patch is mostly bug fixes with some typo corrections and some quality of life. We just wanted to fix some issues and get the build into a relatively stable condition before launching the seventh level and boss fight (which are almost ready).

Fixed a bug where the visual effect for Frozen Core was not appearing on the Jawbreaker and Submarine.
Fixed a bug where the Grasschopper would not indicate when it was taking damage.
Fixed a bug where the Flying Thunder God after-image would not appear correctly in Level 2.
Fixed a bug where the icon of Flying Thunder God had not been updated.
Fixed a bug where Stun Shot would affect Chaos Collossus (Chaos Holy Champion).
Fixed a visual error where the Unstable Concoction shrapnel trail colour would not update as your damage increased.
Fixed walls in Level 4 which were missing colliders.
Fixed jumppads in Level 6 which were not spawning correctly.
Fixed a bug where Maya's death scene would not disappear if Maya was killed earlier in the run.

Typos

Corrected "Deadly Discounts" to "Deadly Discount" for the Deadly Discount blessing.
Corrected the description for Impact Boots, the word "storey" replaces the word "story".
Corrected the Leaderboard to show spaces in names and not the "+" sign.
Corrected "Bubble Bullet" to "Bubble Bullets" in the description for the Bubble Dragon achievement.
Corrected "Wraths Quarry" to "Wrath's Quarry" in the description for the Bloody Business achievement.
Corrected the achievement name "Childs Play" to "Child's Play".
Corrected "gams" to "games" in the description of the Slow and Steady achievement.
