Hero Boy is a beat-em-up in the vein of Golden Axe and Double Dragon. Using combos will let you do moves that deal more damage along with other effects like increased knockback and stuns. As you defeat more enemies, your charge meter will fill up. Once it's filled, you'll be able to use your special move. You unlock new special moves as the game progresses that grant different benefits. The game has a wide variety of enemies to fight who will make use of a combination of melee, ranged, or area of effect attacks. You'll be fighting these enemies in different combinations as you progress.
After some sorting-out of a long-running Unity issue we're back with Hero Boy's biggest update, version 1.3, which adds an Arena Mode where you can battle against waves of different enemies on different maps taken from the main Hero Boy campaign!
The further you get in the waves, the less damage you take and the less you rely on your special attacks, the higher your score will be! The difficulty modifiers from the campaign will also work in the Arena Mode, allowing for more replayability!
High scores are saved in the game itself. Currently there are no leaderboards but we will consider adding them in the future.
