A NEW WEAPON HAS APPEARED!

HEY! HI! HELLO!
We're happy to announce a pretty hefty update to the game! Most notably is a big amount of optimization, hopefully resulting in stable 60 fps for a lot more players. Even more notable is the addition of a new gosh darned WEAPON? WOAH!! Alright, bullet points time!!! Gameplay changes:

A NEW MELEE BASED WEAPON, THE SCYTHE! I'm so excited about this one, we've been talking about melee since the first months of development but never got around to implementing one. FINALLY!
The Daily Challenge levels have been updated with some more layout variations.
The merchant now decorates his little hangout with lamps ... or mushrooms ... What are those things anyways? This game is really confusing.

Bug fixes:

Fixed a clipping issue that let you move through walls while inside the World Snake butt when entering a new level.
The merchant in [spoiler]Deathworld[/spoiler] now stands on the ground like a normal person, instead of hiding outside of the level.
Fixed a bug that allowed permanent invincibility with the [spoiler]Godbox[/spoiler].
The leaderboards should now display "Nothing to show" if you don't have an entry yet, instead of "loading" forever.

Performance improvements:

Game now soft caps at 60 fps, which should allow for smoother fps in general.
Fixed a memory leak caused by sound sources. Should have a massive impact on performance!
Reduced the amount of server calls to Steam.

Here is where the fluffed up version of the game's story would normally be, but you can see a concise version of it in the text to the right of the screenshots and trailer above. Pretty sweet art style, too, eh?

Here is where we'd reduce the game to a feature list that displays a bunch of numerical values spewing out the amount of levels, weapons, bosses, secrets, and on and on. Sometimes this approach makes sense (sure, we've made a list before) but sometimes (often?) this wouldn't tell you about the actual quality of the game itself, it's just marketing-speak attempting to draw you in by spewing off a bunch of data while at the same time not accurately describing the game or its experience.

GoNNER doesn't really need a list. Truth be told, the developer hasn't decided how many of this and that feels right. Why should they? The game is still in development. If you'd really like a list, here it is:

Exactly one (1) giant landbound whale. That's all any game needs. Bam.

Here's what you actually need to know about GoNNER—it's gonna be pretty tough and if you like a challenge then you're certainly going to get it. We're not going to shy away from showing off GoNNER since we'll be taking GoNNER to various conventions and letting your favorite YouTuber/streamer/website play it before it's launched.
