Hello, #BestCommunityEver! Fancy some Nordic Horizons news? Well, we have some right here for you. Today, we would like to show you the city of Skellefte, which is currently being developed for this upcoming Euro Truck Simulator 2 map expansion.
Skellefte is located near the northeastern coast of Sweden and is one of the highlights of Swedish Lapland. The city's population is more than 36,000 citizens. Its nickname is Guldstaden which means "gold town" because of Skellefte's rich industrial and mining history, which was especially focused on gold.
As is always the case with cities we build for our map expansions, you will find plenty of landmark buildings inspired by their real-world counterparts in Skellefte. These include several office buildings, a massive parking structure adorned with the Skellefte logo, a unique hotel constructed entirely of wood, and alchemical signs symbolizing different materials displayed along a large gangway in the industrial area.
Naturally, you will also come across plenty of job opportunities in the local industries. We have mentioned the rich industrial history of the city, and that is why we just couldn't leave out the local steelworks company.
Other than that, truckers can pick up cargo in Skellefte's logistics depot, building materials store, heavy machinery depot, and even a brand-new, yet-to-be-announced depot - but we won't spoil all the surprises for you now!
