After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Winter Heat has finally released for the world to enjoy. It will also receive several free content updates throughout 2026, including an Oomfie RPG expansion and an Epilogue storyline.

A narrative game about love in the digital age, Winter Heat follows the story of Shio, a woman living in snowy Kyoto, and Javi, a woman living in sweltering Santiago. Follow their long-distance love through online chats, video calls, and social media apps. The new demo update adds another app - the Gallery!

Most visual novels have an image galley of some sort, but with Winter Heat's app system, you can expand the story and learn more about the lives of Javi and Shio through the Gallery. Not only will you unlock beautiful art from the main game by director and lead artist Fruz , but you'll get more art and photographs of daily life in Chile and Japan, divided up by different folders across time and topic. Discover an even richer story through the Gallery in the full game. And now it's in the demo, too, mainly to demonstrate what's coming soon.

The next demo update will hopefully include a sizeable update to the Oomfie RPG sub-game, as well as the Maps app. We're trying to get the demo as far along as possible before the end of the Kickstarter campaign , which still has about two weeks remaining. We're shooting for some cool stretch goals, so please support by pledging or sharing!

As part of our weekly content updates throughout the Winter Heat Kickstarter campaign , we've added a new app to the demo experience-- Test Your English!

It's only a couple minutes long, to demonstrate the type of gameplay you can look forward to in the full release. This is the app that Shio uses every day to train up her English level so she can communicate more effectively with people from around the world. How will YOU do?

Give us your feedback on this app and especially ideas for extremely silly English language questions. Just yesterday, we reached our stretch goal to expand this app into an even bigger experience, so please look forward to that!

Winter Heat is more than a love story. Its the texts, notes, games, and digital worlds of a couple across years of their lives. This wholesome visual novel chronicles a modern romance in a uniquely digital way.

Javiera Vera is a freelancer living in the sweltering summer of Maip, Santiago, in Chile. Fukkoshi Shio is an office worker living in the snowy rural town of Miyazu, Kyoto, in Japan. Though they live on different sides of the world, they share something that transcends all boundaries: an internet connection.

But of course, our most important app is a full-fledged sub-game: Oomfie RPG!

Each copy of Winter Heat comes with a ROM of one of Javi and Shios favorite nostalgic games (and pieces of riffing material): Oomfie World IV: The 1994 Saga of Turbo. Why does the title include 1994? Were not sure. Probably because that sounded futuristic in 1993.

After her best friend Sam is sucked into the hot new game console, Oomfie must traverse the digital world of Turbo and collect pieces of the Virtual Cuboid Console to send them both back.

Discover a comfy town and four mazelike adventure zones, switching from a classic overhead view to first-person face-offs in the Chili Forest and other whimsical locales.

Every run through an adventure zone is different, with its own special events. Meet friends and not-so-friends on the road, and decide whether to trade, help, or run away really fast. The further you go, the more forks in the road.

Then oomf your way through tricky turn-based batles. Use Action Points to attack, but watch out: your AP is also your health! Healing at the right moments and reading your opponents moves are the keys to victory.

You have space for eight movesand items. Together. Will you pick up a weapon, or a healing hamburger? Make tough choices on the road, and pray that the merchant has a good selection.

Only your customized Oomfie can beat all four adventure zones and save the day!

Today is International Yuri Day across the internet. Go celebrate lesbian fiction in whatever ways you can. For Yuri Kissaten, we're celebrating by announcing a big upcoming event:

Winter Heat will be released in November, but we've been expanding the scope of the game lately, and we'll be announcing a lot more about that in the near future. But first, please prepare for an awesome Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign !

It'll be pretty small, just "finishing funds" to polish the game and add bonus features--it'll help make the game even stronger. We don't have a precise start date yet, but we'll sure let you know when it's set.
