Wow..... we\'re still in a bit of shock...

We hit 100k copies sold on January 4th, just 20 days after launch!

Weve been busy fixing issues related to Steam Deck support, and on January 5th Valve came back with the results: were now Steam Deck Verified !

Were still cooking on things behind the scenes. Im looking at bringing the demo version into the main game as closely as possible, given how differently the money scales compared to the demo.

Andy shipped a roguelite mode to the beta branch to start testing out the vibes. How to join the beta, here .

1000 Reviews and Patch 1.2 Changes

1000 Reviews and Over 70k Players

Happy Holiday! Fun fact the Black Hole is still hungry even though you might be stuffed.. so make sure to keep on feeding it! The game recently hit 1000 reviews on Steam and over 70k total players (a number that we honestly didn\'t think wed hit in our wildest dream). So another huge Black Hole sized thank you to anyone who\'s play our game and left us a review.

If you haven\'t already please leave us a Steam review, it really helps us a lot!

This is likely our last patch for the year as both Cory and I are going to take a much needed vacation to rest, relax, and celebrate the holidays with our friends and family. We plan to be back the first week in January, but we will still do hotfixes as needed. I plan to check in daily to answer any questions via Steam Discussions and Discord , but we are only a two person dev team, so please be patient as we might not be as available for the next week.

On a personal note, this past week has been quite life changing for me and I can\'t thank you enough for playing our game, sharing it with others, and making sure the Black Hole stays fed! This was a great way to end the year, and I can\'t wait to cool up some fun new modes in 2026.

Day 4 Update and What We're Working On

Day 4 Update

Just a quick update today. We blew past 500 reviews which has personally been a long time goal of mine. A Black Hole sized thank you to anyone who\'s left a review. If you haven\'t already please leave us a Steam review, it really helps us a lot! \n\nWe\'re currently at 90% positivity which means the tag will show \"Very Positive\" on the Steam page. Which is a huge compliment and achievement for us, but we want to aim even higher and see if we can earn the \"Overwhelmingly Positive\" tag by getting up to 95%.

Our plan to do this is simple. Keep adding fun new modes for the foreseeable future. We don\'t want to make any promises for how frequently we\'ll add new stuff, but we are inspired by the Mini Motorways devs ([u]Dinosaur Polo Club[/u] ) who have continued to add new game levels to their game years after their game was launched. Zen Mode Added

We added a new mode. Its called Zen Mode. In this mode there is no timer, no upgrades, you simply just need to break 1000 asteroids. If you like this mode let us know, we can add more types of Zen modes that are longer, shorter, or that focus on other game mechanics.

Giant Grid Mode

Cory is working on Giant Grid which currently has 840 (!?) nodes in the tree. Roguelike Mode

Ive started to work on Roguelike Mode which will be our first mode which has a fair amount of new development work. \n\nThe general idea is: What would it be like if each time you bought an upgrade you instead got to choose 1 out of 3 random upgrades with random values based on a randomly rolled rarity.\n\n[img src=\"https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/45667050/6103a18939c72ed1bfc504ce642b097c75be3748.png\"][/img]I\'m hoping to have a beta build ready for testing tomorrow (Dec 19th), but that is subject to change since its already the end of the day on Thursday and tomorrow is a Friday after a long week of work supporting the launch. Plus I have the itch to dive into the new POE 2 league or play the new TFT Set.\n

Speedrunning

Lastly, a few people in our Discord community are trying to get a Speedrun.com category of the game made so we can have some official world records. But for now a huge congratulations to Kaede who set (from what I can tell) the current Normal Mode World record of 1 hr 9 min 39 sec. Day 3 Patch Notes + Developer Update

First off, we must say a huge THANK YOU to you for playing our game. Cory and I are blown away by how many of you have played and fed the Black Hole, but its still hungry, so we must keep on feeding it!

If you haven\'t already please leave us a Steam review, it really helps us a lot!

Over the past two days, weve been prioritizing fixing bugs, UI/UX issues, and adding quality-of-life improvements (you can find todays changes listed below). Thats left us with little time to focus on adding the bonus game modes we had planned for this week and next. So weve updated our target dates to now show COMING SOON instead of a specific date. To be honest, I think those dates were a bit too ambitious for a two-developer team like ourselves, and to be even more honest, we didnt think the game would blow up like it did.

Now, to be clear, we designed the main game mode to be the full game, and toward the end of development we realized we could add even more content for you with these additional modes. We came up with some quick and fun mini modes for commutes or lunch breaks, and as we kept talking, Cory and I realized that we could probably even make some modes that would be good enough to have been the main game mode.

Some might call this last minute scope creep, but in the weeks leading up to release we focused in on executing our vision for the main game mode and planned to work on the additional modes post-launch. But then the game blew up, and now we are here. So moving forward, we wont promise a specific date, but instead we can promise that we will keep adding game modes and new content.

With that being said, heres a taste of a few ideas that we are cooking up.\n

Electric Clicker Mode:

What would it be like if every time the breaker clicked it would also shoot out lighting like the electric asteroids and stars?

Roguelike Mode:

What would it be like if each time you bought an upgrade you instead got to choose 1 out of3 random upgrades with random values based on a randomly rolled rarity.

Full Idle Mode:

What would it be like if the clicker had a mind of its own and auto-targeted nearby asteroids or what if you could recruit minions who would break asteroids for you?\n\n*These ideas are all works in progress and subject to change.\n\nDo you have ideas? We want to start coming up with modes which really push the bounds of what this game is and has to offer. So while we cant make any promises that well add your idea, wed love to hear them.

Planets are the next major objects youll be destroying after asteroids.

Theyre dense. Youll notice a bit of a lull when you first encounter them.

Once you start cracking through them, youll unlock the chance for Moons to spawn. Moons like to hang around their Planets (clingy little things), but destroying them together grants you special buffs.
