Hi all!
I hope youve all had a good week and are starting to see at least glimpses of sunshine as we move closer to summer!
Ive had a good, productive few weeks and can officially say that Im well into Episode 3 now. Ive rendered the first scene (over 200 renders), so full steam ahead!
The new computer is up and running now, all files transferred etc. I have to say, its an absolute dream to be able to move from shot to shot so quickly (I was even given a telling off by the render farm owner for uploading shots too quickly :D ).
Im also upgrading my internet tomorrow, moving from 350mbps to 1gig. This is to help with uploading shots to the farm, which can sometimes take a while (uploading 20gig at a time - there's a lot of waiting around!).
Thanks to all of you who joined in with the comments regarding the 12th member of the Jury, using some of those ideas I'm a little closer to finalizing her, but I'll continue to think about it while I'm writing and rendering up to her introduction.
Animations:
Ive already started rendering a few animations overnight, the idea being to keep on top of the animation load as Ep3 is shaping up to have more than Ep2 did (and those took an entire month to render last time).
Ive also signed up to an asset service to enhance animations in Ep3. Essentially, its a huge bank of special effects like drips, sprays and liquid stretches/pulls (Im sure you can all imagine where those are going to be used). I do think it will add to the realism, and will certainly help with certain girls 'talents'.
See the .gif below to get the idea of the kind of effects I'll be using.
I did a test on one of the new animations yesterday, and honestly, I think it looks awesome. Fortunately, my background in film compositing can help me track/mask/stabilize the base footage so it doesnt appear just plonked on top of the shot and hand animated. I'm really excited about these because I do think they take the quality to the next level.
The Lovense integration is still ongoing. My technical advisor is still getting round to fixing an issue we're having with the pattern api, so once that's done, I'll of course be adding that into the game as a minor update.
So for now, it's going to be lots of rendering, writing and animating. I'm not going to go quiet on you all though and will keep you all updated as regularly as I have been in the past.
