Regular Game Update 9

Hi there Sky pilots, It's been a while. I'm just busy with the game, since we are nearing a potential release. This update brings the training mode, where you can learn about the game's mechanics and how to get scores. The Tate mode (Horizontal screen) has an interactive tutorial, where you can test stuff out. Sadly and due to technical issues, the Yoko mode (vertical screen) only has a picture tutorial. MAJOR GAME UPDATE 8

Hi there pilots, Another big update comes with this new patch 1.2.7. I added all 30 achievements/trophies to the game. Although many of them aren't accessible in the demo version. In addition to that, we now have a world map screen, like a good old arcade beat'em up :D

We've got a leaderboard!

Hi there Pilots, Long time not seen. I was just busy working on the boring stuff, like menus and such. However, there's something worth of an announcement: Shockwave Triggers got a fully working online Steam leaderboard. Now you can compete against other player on all 4 difficulties. I hope this functionality adds more fun to the game.
As for the rest of the game, I'd like to announce that stage 5 is finally done. Only one stage left (I guess) and we can call this project 90% done.

MAJOR GAME UPDATE 7

Hi there pilots! This is your solo developer Shinu again. I thought it'd make a nice change to add a new stage to the demo of Shockwave Triggers. In this update, you find stage 3, Rusted Factory, available instead of stage 2. Stage 3 is a nice change of scenery; you'll find yourselves inside an old factory filled with new enemies to kill, platforms to avoid and an awesome boss made of 3 parts. Please give it a try and let me know how do you like it.

MAJOR GAME UPDATE 7

Hi there pilots, Recently, I've got a huge feedback from the community and been busy working on that. Alongside the regular bug fixes, I've got the following changes done, hoping they improve the over all quality of the core gameplay: - Players do not lose all their power ups after a hit, they only get down by 1 level, but lose all turrets. -Continue now reduces score to 0. -Enemies bullets colors changed to match backgrounds and player fire. -Slowing down some enemy bullets on stage 01. -Turbo B no longer can shoot and charge at the same time. Which was a bug that removed the risk purpose of his play style. -Cool down for Turbo B special is now faster. -Turbo B gets invincibility after creating a Shockwave, just like Amira -The horizontal horizontal scrolling of the backgrounds is improved for better bullets tracking. REGULAR GAME UPDATE - WE CAN REDO!

Hi there pilots! Version 1.2.2 is here and, alongside many bug fixes, it brings a new feature: Restart. Listening to feedback, the restart feature is mostly for 1cc players, because it restarts the game to stage 1 and deletes all progress like score, power ups and collected crystals. For people who want a stage restart option in order to practice, rest assured, the game will have a practice mode and even a boss rush mode. Hi there pilots! Thanks a lot for the wishlsts during the Steam Next Fest! This is a regular small update, in which I worked and a few bugs and suggestions I've got lately, most notable are: - ZXC and arrow keys are the default keyboard controls. - Stage end special attack reward is fixed. - Stage result won't get stuff if you leave the score calculating till the end. - Bosses won't hide your power ups and items now. - Steam screenshots with F12 are available now. REGULAR GAME UPDATE

Hi there pilot, This is just a regular game update. For this new patch 1.1.5, as usual, a few bugs were fixed. But also I decided to make things difficulty-wise spicier for stage 1. This decision was made after regular demands from players. If you guys find the game too challenging, you can still lower the difficulty. I hope that the game now offers a challenging but also fair gameplay. As for the game progress in general. Work already started on stage 4 and it's 20% so far:

Small patch solving some bugs

Hi there pilots, This is just a small bug fixing some bugs reported recently. I wanted to make an announcement in case players still have an issue with the player not respawning due to old save. Linux/SteamOS build added

The goal of this build is to make game installation on mentioned OS easier without the need to manually install the game or look for the exe file location. Regular bug fixes patch

Hi there pilot, This is a demo patch for version 1.1.4. This is just regular update fixing bugs you've been reporting, which I truly appreciate. Main bug fixes and changes in this version: - Auto special (bomb) is now available for all difficulties. You can turn it on/off from the options. I'll add more twists to this later. - Boss 1 core is no longer damage-able until it shows its HP and starts attacking. - Too bad, but it was removed. Some player discovered the "I" key that I didn't block for the demo, which triggers the continue screen any time and allows players to have many characters on screen. Was fun to watch hahaha.
- HUD bug during the intro screen. - And other minor fixes. That was all for this patch. Otherwise, progress is getting smoothly and stage 3 is near being done. Cheers, Shinu Real Arts

MAJOR GAME UPDATE 6

Hello pilots, As the title mentions, the new patch 1.1.1 brings some changes to the core system. I've been getting a lot of feedback on the item/power ups drop system. The old system was part randomized and part checking the player's state in order to drop the necessary items. However, players didn't like this method, so I want with the traditional take and created item carriers that disposes power ups, add-ons, bombs etc. at certain parts of the stage.
I also added a bonus drop at the end of each stage to help players start the next stage with some fire power in case they've lost them during the boss fight.
Also, I did some optimization for both players so none overpowers the other. Other than that, so minor bugs are fixed, namely the new achievements for boss 02. With that, I4ll be taking my leave and resume working on stage 3. Cheers,

MAJOR GAME UPDATE 4!!

Hello pilots! A big feature was added to Shockwave Triggers recently, which is Steam Achievements. Now you can see your achievements either in the game bonus menu, or on Steam.
Right now I added only 5 achievements. So Far, 30 are planned. I may need your suggestion to get cool and interesting ones. I'll be adding new achievements on the way while developing the rest of the game.

Somehow starting a devlog?

Hi there guys! This a new thing. I'm thinking about occasionally sharing some news and devlog stuff here, just as a way to get people involved in the development of Shockwave Triggers and also get some feedback on it. Today I just finished working on the core system for the Steam achievements. The demo got 5 achievements so far. I decided to stop adding any more and move to the 3rd stage. I'll be adding more achievements on the go.
And here we go, this is the first concept for stage 3. The theme is "old abandoned and rusty factory". I always start with some concepts like this one here:

Hi there pilots, This is just a regular update fixing them bloody bugs. Main one discovered and fixed here is the player 01 hitbox, that decided to go crazy on its own. Sorry if some of you died even after dodging a bullet, it's not your shmupper skills, but rather my fault. Other than that, work on the game is going smoothly as it should do. Take care!

In this high resolution arcade vertical shmup, learn how to use the power of Shockwaves to destroy your enemies and also to score the highest points.
You can either charge and release your own massive Shockwave or use the ones released by destroyed enemies to your advantage, timing is the key, just keep in mind, the size of the enemies Shockwave depends on their sizes.











Shockwave Triggers is a pure arcade game, which is thanks to its tight controls, tiny hitboxes for both player and bullets, simple but effective mechanics and the fully customizable support of gamepads, keyboard and arcade sticks.

In Shockwave Triggers, you can cancel most enemy bullets by releasing your Shockwave super attack, or by timing the explosions of enemies, since these do also create their own shockwave when dying. The enemies shockwave's size depends on the enemy's size and it doesn't hard the player.

Not only for attacking, but you can also use Shockwaves to get higher scores, it's all about timing and learning enemies behaviors.

Shockwave Triggers also rewards the player for being risky thanks to its bullets grinding system; getting closer to enemies bullets makes your fire power stronger and also recharges your super attack meter.




Shockwave Triggers is a high resolution vertical pixel art shoot'em up with colorful and sharp visuals. Everything on screen is hand made/painted and all animations are made traditionally frame by frame. As for the art style, the game aims to offer a retro anime look from the beloved 90s.



Also, the game offers a proper Tate mode for player with vertical mounted screens.





Each game has a story, even a super "arcady "vertical shooter. In Shockwave Triggers, you have to save your little sister from the Empire who kidnaped her. Somehow, they have a certain use for her in their plan to dominate this post apocalyptic world that relies on crystals to get power.







Although an arcade style game, Shockwave Triggers offer a console like experience thanks to the different features available:
- Difficulties: The game offers 4 levels of difficulty, to each their own.
- Tate/Yoko modes: Since the game is a vertical shooter, a Tate mode is a must. The purists can set their monitors vertically and enjoy the true full screen mode, just like on the real arcade hardware.
- Controllers and keyboard: The game supports a great range of controllers as well as the keyboard. Players can configure the keys as they wish.
- Arcade mode: Play the single player mode and aim for high score on the online leaderboard.
- Two coop players mode: Enjoy local multiplayer on shared screen, just like the old good days.
- Boss rush: Train and fight against every boss you've already reached.
- Gallery: Unlock and enjoy different artworks, concepts and fanarts.
- Trophies: Enjoy the challenge of unlocking the many trophies the game offers.
- Game shop: Use the in-game earned money and unlock additional credits as well as new features.
- Online leaderboard: Take the challenge online and see how high you can get on the online leaderboard.
