After a long and chaotic journey through development, were incredibly excited (and slightly terrified) to finally share Space Bross with you.

This is just the beginning. Early Access means well be building the game with your feedback, shaping it into the most unhinged, turret-packed revenge saga it can be. Expect updates, balance tweaks, new content, and probably a few panic fixes along the way.

To everyone whos wishlisted, tested, shared, or just believed in a game where a retired astronaut goes to war over a chickenthank you. Youve helped bring this weird little universe to life.

Devlog #5: UI, QoL Changes and more!

Hello y'all!

We'd like to start with a big thank you to anyone who hopped on the demo hype with us and provided very valuable (and much needed) feedback through any channel available. It was our first Steam Next Fest so we can not stress enough how much it means to us and to improving the game, so kudos to you for taking time for that.

After the demo rollout with the Steam Next Fest, our main focus was to adress initial findings of you guys, regarding the tutorial (as a whole), UI-UX improvements and language support. Here is what we implemented;

UI & Visual Updates;


  • Various UI changes to the evolve screen, now you can see future upgrades and what you would get if you continue upgrading.

  • Map sizes got smaller visually. Now, you can not see the parts of the map that you are not able to walk towards. So the actual gameplay area is the same, just the visual clutter beyond the fight arena is removed.

  • Brand new cutscenes added for completing the planets Zar'Skin and Scrapheim.

Quality-of-Life Improvements


  • Russian language and localization support now available

  • The dub voice level slider added for adequate sound mixing

  • Overall text sizes got adjusted

  • The tutorial is totally revamped. Instead of the unskippable texts explaining the game one-by-one, now you can hop on the game directly and access the tutorial from the (?) icon top right side of the minimap.

    The tutorial button explains everything you need to know at that moment, from skill usage to turret mechanics, in short-but-informative fashion. You will be able to select the specific area of the game you wanted to, close the pop-up menu and keep on shootin'.

This update was mainly focused on the major grievances about the general look of the game and the much needed QoL updates, so the next one will be almost exclusively gameplay-related. Our aim is to create a fresh, fun and very violent atmosphere to the game with a perfect gameplay flow.

Demo Update is Live Thanks for All the Amazing Feedback!

Hey everyone!

First off, a massive thank you to everyone who played the Space Bross demo and shared your thoughts with us. Weve been overwhelmed (in the best way) by the interest, support, and insightful feedback from this awesome community. You guys rock.

Based on your feedback, weve just rolled out a new update to the demo, and it packs a punch.

Whats New?


Wave System Overhaul Enemy waves are now tougher, faster, and more dynamic. Get ready to adapt and strategize, things are getting real out there.

Map Size Adjustment Weve reduced the overall map size to make exploration and combat more efficient and visually engaging. Less running around, more action, more impact.

Balancing Improvements Weve made tweaks across the board to ensure a more challenging and satisfying gameplay loop , especially for those of you looking for that extra edge.

*Cluck Alert* Suit Up, Commander: Demo is Almost Here!

Hey everyone, we hope you're all doing great! We wanted to take a moment to share an exciting update from our little corner of the galaxy. Since we started showing more of Space Bross, the support and feedback we've received have been incredible, and trust us, weve been listening to every word. To be honest, like many indie teams, we've always been a bit hesitant when it comes to sharing too much too soon. We kept polishing things in the background, holding back features, hiding chaos, and sometimes just overthinking what ready even means. But weve realized its time to open the hangar doors and show you what weve really been building. So heres the big news: A public demo is on its way to Steam on June 9th with the Steam Next Fest! Yep, you'll soon be able to jump into the absurd, chaotic, hand-drawn world of Space Bross, blast alien hordes, and try to rescue that very special chicken yourself.

Were preparing a playable demo that will feature:


  • A fully playable planet
  • A taste of the wave system and combat chaos
  • Roguelite upgrades
  • Base-building and turret mechanics

Devlog #4: Big Changes, Bigger Chaos Space Bross Update

Hey everyone, Weve been hard at work behind the scenes, and today were excited to share one of our biggest updates yet. From gameplay tweaks to visual polish, this patch brings a lot of improvements aimed at making Space Bross more fun, more dynamic, and easier to jump into. Here's what's new:

UI & Visual Upgrades


  • New UI added at the beginning of levels for better flow and readability.
  • Weapon animations have been revamped to make attacks more clear and satisfying.
  • Maps have been reworked again for improved pacing and visual clarity.
  • Turret visuals now evolve with upgrades, so it's easier to track your build.


Quality-of-Life Improvements


  • Reworked keybindings for skills to feel more natural.
  • The tutorial is now skippable for players who want to dive right in.
  • Scroll wheel now cycles weapons. Zooming is handled with Ctrl + scroll.
  • Updated the main menu banner with a fresh new design.
  • Characters now speak up as the action unfolds. Whether its a quick reaction or an emotional outburst, voice lines bring a new layer of personality to the game.

Steam Deck, Controller, and Linux Support


Space Bross is now officially compatible with Steam Deck, Xbox controllers, and Linux! It's smoother, more accessible, and ready to be played however you prefer. (Even while you poop)

Wave System Overhaul



The wave system has been redesigned to be less predictable and a lot more engaging. Every encounter should feel fresh and a little more chaotic.

Cutscenes Added


Weve introduced short cutscenes to levels to help tie the action together with story and atmosphere. Its a small step toward building a richer universe. Thanks for playing and supporting us. IMPORTANT UPDATE: New Planet, Perk System & Major Balance Changes!

Your continued support and feedback mean the world to us! With this update, were introducing a brand-new planet, new enemies, a revamped perk system, and some exciting balance changes. Oh, and trust us, things are about to get even better!

New Planet: Scrapheim



Welcome to Scrapheim, a vast galactic junkyard that has become a dangerous, hive-minded machine collective. Once just a scrapyard of discarded tech, an advanced quantum AI has taken control, forging the planet into a synchronized mechanical force. Every pile of scrap, every rusting machine, everything now serves a singular purpose: to expand and upgrade. Expect coordinated machine attacks and unpredictable threats as you explore this ever-evolving wasteland.

New Monsters



Scrapheim wouldnt be complete without some deadly new foes. Meet your latest nightmares: Crawler-X Agile and relentless, this machine is built for pursuit. Grim-Trailer A massive moving behemoth that crushes everything in its path. Shredder Drill A burrowing menace that strikes from below. Scav-Tek A scavenger bot that steals resources from fallen enemies. Scrap-Guard The enforcer of the hive mind, built for pure destruction. Vulture-Drone A hovering menace that attacks from above. Raven-Wing A stealthy aerial hunter that strikes when you least expect it.

Map Design Improvements



Weve made significant changes to map design for a more engaging and strategic gameplay experience. Expect better layouts, improved navigation, and more dynamic encounters!

New Perk System



Its here! A classic but essential addition, the Perk System. Youve seen it before, but trust us, its going to make gameplay way more engaging. Choose the right perks to shape your playstyle and dominate the battlefield. And this is just the beginning were planning to expand it even further!

UI Updates


Based on your feedback, weve given the UI another overhaul for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.

Meta Changes


Were always fine-tuning the balance, and heres whats changed this time;

Shotgun:


Now fires in rounds, allowing multiple shots per run. Increased range, damage, and spread for a more satisfying blast.

Rifle:


Reduced reload speed to maintain steady fire. Slightly lower damage, but increased attack speed for better DPS.

Sniper Rifle:


Decreased reload time so you can land shots faster. Increased damage to maintain its role as a high-risk, high-reward weapon.

Skills


Rage: All stat buffs have been increased, making it even more powerful in battle.

Whats Next?


Now that Scrapheim is here, its time for the fun part, making it even better! - The map is changing AGAIN! Weve identified some areas for improvement, and this time, trust us, its going to be way better. -Game flow improvements were making the overall experience smoother and more engaging. -More weapon and turret balance changes are coming soon! -Perk system expansion, were just getting started, and we have big plans to make it even deeper and more rewarding. New Planet On The Horizon: #DEVLOG 3

Thank you for your incredible support and feedback! Your suggestions and insights continue to shape the journey of Space Bross. In this update, were introducing exciting new content, balancing gameplay, and squashing some pesky bugs. And what you asked for is finally here! Be sure to check out meta changes!

New Planet: Zarskin


The second stop on Sams journey has arrived! Zarskin is a barren, desert-like planet that once thrived as the home of the Zarki, a brilliant ancient civilization. Now reduced to ruins, its golden age lies buried beneath scorching sands. Explore sprawling temples and enigmatic artifacts that whisper of a lost legacy.

Story Mode


Story mode is now ready for testing! Feel free to jump in, give it a try and leave us your suggestions!

New Monsters


Ruinkin:


Descendants of the Zarki, twisted by time and the planets harsh conditions. These hostile creatures guard their territory fiercely, with legends hinting at fragments of ancient knowledge hidden within their primal rage.

Sandspur:


Once loyal flying maggot-like beasts used to carry objects and aid construction, these creatures now serve as relentless attackers.

Kharvok:


A highly dangerous creature originally used to defend Zarki cities. Now a vicious guardian, Kharvok is resistant to attacks and should be avoided at all costs.

UI Changes


  • Redesigned for a sleeker, more intuitive experience.
  • Enhanced visuals and usability for better gameplay clarity.
  • Introducing a new feature allowing players to speed up the gaming experience by 2x and 3x



Meta Changes


To enhance gameplay balance and excitement, weve refined the following mechanics based on your feedback:

Character:


  • Speed has now boosted significantly, allowing faster movement, reloading, and shooting.

Rage Skill:


  • Efficiency increased to make it feel more impactful in battle.
  • Duration slightly reduced to avoid overpowering gameplay and maintain strategic depth.

Shotgun:


  • Base clip size increased to 2, with upgrades boosting it to 5. This change improves utility while preserving progression opportunities.

Rocket Launcher:


  • Enhanced range, damage, and reload speed to increase its effectiveness and make it a more viable late-game weapon.

Resource & Experience Output:


  • Increased across the board to reward exploration and combat, ensuring players feel adequately compensated for their efforts.

Bug Fixes


  • Base Animation Glitch: Resolved an issue where the base animation caused visual glitches during collapse sequences.
  • Upgrade Sync Issue: Fixed a bug where base upgrades werent correctly reflected on the profile page, ensuring consistency in gameplay and visuals.

Hey everyone, Big things have been happening behind the scenes, and were excited to share some serious upgrades that will make your time in the game even better. From visual tweaks to entirely new features, weve packed this update with a lot to discover. Heres whats new: A Smarter, Cleaner UI Weve rebuilt the interface to be more functional and easier to navigate. The new HUD design prioritizes clarity, so you can focus on the action without feeling overwhelmed. Animations That Hit Harder Weve worked on animations to add more punch to every moment.

  • Dying Animation:
Creatures now perish with more dramatic and dynamic movements, heightening the intensity of battle.
  • Base Damage Animation:
Feel the impact as your base takes damage, with visuals that showcase the destruction in real time.
  • Building Collapse Animation:
Structures crumble realistically, adding a layer of cinematic flair to the battlefield.
  • Rage Animation:
Youll know when somethings about to go berserk. Characters and creatures in rage mode now showcase fierce, energy-infused animations.
  • Shockwave Animation:
Shockwaves now look as powerful as they feel.
  • Healing Animation:
Health boosts come with satisfying visuals.
  • Blink Animation:
Movement skills now feel smoother and more responsive. Four New Creatures in the Wild Prepare for fresh challenges with the addition of four new creature types. Each one brings something different to the table, and theyre not here to make things easy for you. Our Faun and Ivydria now have new companies, and each new addition has its own design. Fixes and Tweaks Weve ironed out bugs that were causing hiccups, so things should run a lot smoother now. From stability improvements to minor gameplay adjustments, weve made sure the rough edges are gone. A New Look for the Map The map has been updated with a fresh design and more detailed layouts. Its easier to read, better organized, and packed with surprises for you to discover. Music and Sound Effects Weve added a full soundtrack to match every moment of your journey, whether youre exploring or in the middle of a fight. Along with that, new sound effects make the world feel fuller, with attention to detail in everything from footsteps to explosions.

Adventure Begins - First Update From Us #DEVLOG 1

Were beyond excited to finally share this journey with youour years of dreaming and creating are coming to life, and we cant wait for you to be a part of it. Its no secret that plenty of developers start PC game projects filled with passion, and even if the journey isnt easy, they keep going. Lavega Games is one of those studios: weve imagined Space Bross for a long time, and now feels like the perfect moment to pour our energy into this game and make it something truly memorable. Lavega Games began as a team of three focused on mobile games but always with a love for PC gaming. That love led us to expand into creating a game thats not only unique and fun but also distinctly ours. Our team has now grown to ten, united by a common dream: to stay independent as long as we can, making games that weand hopefully youwill cherish. Whats Space Bross and Why Does It Have an Extra S? Space Bross combines roguelike thrills with strategic tower defense elements in a vibrant, hand-drawn 2.5D world where every decision makes a difference. Its a mix of adventure, quirky characters, and just the right touch of humor. The story centers on an astronauts mission to save his unlikely best frienda courageous little chicken kidnapped by a mysterious force. Fueled by determination, our hero journeys across dangerous planets, building strongholds and defenses against relentless enemies. Each encounter, from cunning foes to towering bosses, brings him closer to reuniting with his feathered friend. Originally, we imagined Space Bross as a mobile game with a story-driven twista rarity in the mobile space back then. But as our vision grew, so did our ambition. We shifted focus to our true passion: PC gaming. And about that extra S in Bross theres a little secret there, which well reveal as you progress in the game! Space Bross will first launch on Steam, and after the full release, we plan to bring it to Steam Deck, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. The Progress So Far We started brainstorming Space Bross in March 2024 and took our time to build something special. After countless discussions about story, art direction, and game mechanics, we officially kicked off development in June 2024, with the first planet as our starting point. Our announcement trailer gives a glimpse of whats to come, but as mentioned, were still in the pre-alpha stage. Our plan is to conduct playtests with one planet around mid-December and release a demo just after Steam Next Fest in April 2025. For Early Access, we aim to make three planets available, each fully playable. Whats Next? Our first planet, currently named Floraven, features a rich world of different biomes, seven creatures (including a boss), a variety of turrets, and unique backgrounds. Were finalizing line art, color palettes, and evolving gameplay mechanics to make Floraven feel alive and immersive. In our next devlog, well share in-depth updates, including design choices weve embraced or abandoned, recent UI adjustments, and insights into our branding process.
