Dachs Hunter will be released on Early Access on June 17th!

Hey guys,

The portals of Dachs Hunter open on June 17th, and were excited to welcome you into battle. The game will officially launch into Early Access at (6 PM GMT-3 / 2 PM PDT / 11 PM CEST)!

At launch, Dachs Hunter will be available for $4.99 and will also feature a 10% launch discount for 14 days!

  • Changed the maximum level of spells from level 4 to 9.

  • Increased the amount of dachs minion spawns from 2 to 4.

  • Reduced the opacity of AOE spell indicators.

  • Offensive, defensive, and utility upgrades are now offered together upon leveling up.

  • Upgrades that appeared when leveling up to 10, 20, 30... are now called arcane traits and are collected by defeating elites and mini bosses.

  • The demo will be available for an additional 14 days after the early access launch.

Improvements:

  • Fixed a visual error where when the player had no scrolls, the Poison Scroll spell would appear in the hints;

  • Changed the way to select upgrades when leveling up. Now it is necessary to double-click or press 'enter'.

  • Changed the Sprites of some enemies.

  • Change the icon of the "Shrine" that grants attack bonus on the minimap.

  • Visual improvement in the effect of healing enemies.

  • The basic attack now appears with the name "Basic Attack" when selecting upgrades when leveling up.

  • Fixed an error where healing potions followed the player even with full health.

  • Dash damage is now counted on the stats screen.
  • New "Arcane Tier" difficulty system. Now it is possible for the player to choose the difficulty they want to play the map on, but they must unlock it first.
  • Fixed a bug where the game would not pause when opening the Steam Overlay using a controller.
  • Added a notice to the start menu warning that game progress will migrate to the early access version.
New Scroll Exchange System:
  • Allows you to exchange two scrolls of a rarity for a universal scroll, allowing you to use it when upgrading any spell of the same rarity. (ex: 2x Poison Cloud Scrolls => 1x Common Universal Scroll).

  • Music volume slightly reduced during Boss battles.
  • Added a message on the main menu informing until when the demo will be available.
  • The Friends Leaderboard, which previously appeared when entering the portal, has now been moved to the board inside the portal room.
  • A menu showing the map difficulty is now displayed when entering a portal.
  • Added sound effects to some menus that previously had no sound.
  • Fixed a minor bug on the minimap.
  • Fixed a bug in the spellbook.
  • Added an option to reset game progress to the settings menu.
  • Added a new HUD to the settings menu.
Balancing:
  • Some area-of-effect (AOE) spells no longer follow the player.
  • Adjusted the area size of certain spells.
  • Significantly reduced the cooldown time of several spells.
  • Increased the cooldown reduction limit of several spells to 85%, with only some remaining at 50% due to their mechanics.
  • Adjusted the damage of certain spells.
  • Map difficulty now varies based on the required magic power, and this information is shown when entering a portal.
  • Healing potions now spawn randomly across the map.
  • The HP of various monsters has been reduced, especially elites and bosses.
  • Damage and attack patterns of some bosses have been modified.
  • Special monsters (explosive, ranged, etc.) now appear randomly in small numbers instead of in waves.
  • It is now possible to obtain upgrades to improve the basic attack.
  • Upgrades have been divided into two groups: one for offensive improvements and another for defensive and utility upgrades.

  • Fixed a bug where Dachs Minion was dropping only poison scrolls.
  • Reduced Dachs Minion speed by 20% during the first encounters.
  • Added a new HUD for the quests menu.
  • Fixed a rare bug where the player could die inside minigames.
  • Removed the storage chest and added a scroll exchanger (not avaiable yet).
  • Minigame entrances are now hidden on the map again.
  • Added a spell area indicator for the following spells: Acid Rain, Life Leeching, Necrotic Aura, Magma Geysers, and Meteor Rain.

This update contains bug fixes, balancing, new upgrades, and more. Improvements:

  • Small improvement to the spell autocasting system. (Now with the autocast system the AOE spells only activate if enemies are close to a certain distance).
  • The cooldown time of some spells has been slightly changed.
  • Fire Breath spell now attacks in the mouse direction.
  • Improved the sprite of the Fire Breath spell.
  • Changed the sprite of the Flamethrower spell.
  • Increased the number of elite monsters.
  • Elite monsters now have more health and use special attacks.
  • Characters now unlock by killing the first elite on the map of the same element instead of the mini boss.
  • The inventory chest has been temporarily disabled.
  • An improvement to the loot drop indicator has been made.

We've added some map events "Shrines" that appear randomly and grant bonuses.



We've revamped the upgrade system:



Upgrade System:
  • A visual improvement was made in the selection of upgrades when leveling up.
  • The base percentage for some upgrades has been changed.
  • Now there is a rarity system for the upgrades.
  • Offensive upgrades are now individual for each spell.
  • New special upgrades have been added that appear every 10 levels.
Fixes:
  • Fixed the font of some numbers displayed on the screen.
  • Fixed the luck upgrades to now show as a percentage.
  • Fixed a SFX glitch in the upgrade menu.
  • Fixed a glitch in basic attack SFX.

Dachs Hunter is a top-down roguelite game where you play as a dachshund wizard and must survive hordes of elemental monsters. Strategize as you discover and collect unique spells while mastering all elements.
