Suit Up - Update 3.0

Greetings, Pilots! Suit Up - Update 3.0 is here! This massive update represents another major step forward as we continue our journey toward the final 4.0 release that will bring Suit Up out of Early Access. Before diving into the details, I want to share some important news about Suit Up's future. After months of dedicated development, I'm actively seeking publishing partners to help bring this game to a wider audience. I've already reached out to publishers like Humble Bundle and Team17, and I'm optimistic about finding the right partner to help Suit Up reach its full potential. With my first child due in just a couple of months, I'm working hard to get Suit Up to a satisfactory level of completion before then. The upcoming 4.0 update will be our final major release, featuring the long-awaited mech upgrade circuit board system that will add a whole new layer of strategic depth to your upgrade choices! Now, let's explore what's new in Update 3.0! VFX Overhaul This visual overhaul has dramatically improved all our explosions and brought in exciting new effects:

  • Enhanced missile effects with more spectacular visuals
  • Improved explosive barrel destruction
  • Better grenade detonations
  • Enhanced screen shake for more impactful combat
  • Improved damage flash effects
  • Upgraded drone ability effects
Level Improvements Responding to community feedback, we've reworked environments and lighting:
  • Improved lighting with dynamic angles so environments feel more three-dimensional
  • More variations of day and night lighting scenarios
  • New levels added to Plains & Desert Biomes with level tweaks throughout
  • Experimental Level Rotator - Levels now rotate to provide much more variety!
  • Updated survival level endings for better flow
Weapon Balancing Shotgun Rebalance - The shotgun was overpowered in an unfun way, so damage is now properly distributed between fragments rather than dealing full damage from each New Drone System Overhaul We've completely rebuilt the Drone System with exciting new features and abilities:
  • New Drone Abilities: Destroy crawlers with Napalm, Mines, and Nukes!
  • Shop Integration: All drone abilities can now be purchased and equipped from your Base Shop
  • Expanded Loadouts: Unlock more slots and equip up to 5 drone abilities for battle
  • Charge System: All abilities now use charges - each charge makes the ability more powerful!
Fun Additions
  • Hidden Cheat Menu - There's now a secret cheat menu hidden in the game. Good luck figuring it out!
  • Enhanced Easter Egg - Added more hints to the Base Area easter egg since nobody's solved it yet!
  • New Dialogue - Fresh conversations with Holobug to discover
Miscellaneous Improvements
  • Cleaned up collision layers so objects react more naturally to explosions and environmental effects
  • Improved shot reflection mechanics when deflecting spitter attacks with the Pulse weapon
  • Pulse-reflected shots now properly damage crawlers
  • Better enemy balancing and more dynamic horde sizes
  • Upload level improvements - Crawlers no longer always target the upload spot
  • Enhanced mech running audio
  • Optimized save data processing and reduced saving times
  • Removed the "Leaving Area" killzone and warning system
Bug Fixes We've squashed numerous bugs reported by the community:
  • Fixed Log sequencer visibility issues behind environmental objects
  • Resolved void grenade mod malfunction
  • Fixed infinite fuel exploit
  • Corrected Backyard area menu not opening properly
  • Resolved multiple audio firing issues
  • Fixed Double Barreled mod functionality
  • Repaired Controls menu button
  • Prevented repair kits from falling through floor
  • Corrected Fracture Cryo mod visual effects
  • Fixed several Log menu opening errors
  • Resolved spore attack damage spam

Hot Fix 3

Hi everyone! The release of the Demo has been great and brought in new players which have let us know of some bugs and issues that have been found in both the Demo and the Build. As always we listen to our players and try and get these fixed as soon as possible! So here are the hot fixes in this patch for both the demo and full versions:

  • text overflow bottom of log menu
  • field log icon prompt displays correctly
  • floor misplaced in ice level
  • fixed jungle traps not firing every time
  • bomber bugs have a bigger explosion effect
  • demo build doesn't cover crawler amount in mod menu
  • missiles target enemies properly
  • turned off free use of Drone system
  • fixed tutorial drone menu needing 2 presses bug
  • critical repairs mod bug fixed
  • crawler parts now always show on mod screen
  • gravity well and energy blast mods fixed
  • loadout menu bug in backyard area fixed
  • Two chips appearing at the start of the run removed
  • Robot chat box error in the void area fixed
  • Unlimited Tech power bug fixed
  • Can now pick Liquid Nitrogen as mod
  • Napalm Mod bug fixed
  • enemy projectiles layer issues fixed
  • Thank you menu and discord link bug fixed
  • Demo build - not being able to play game because of Thank you menu error fixed

Suit Up - Update 2.0

Greetings, Pilots! Suit Up - Update 2.0 is here! Building on our first major update, we've continued listening to your feedback and have implemented numerous improvements and fixes to enhance your experience battling through crawler-infested landscapes. Before diving into the details, we have some exciting news - a free playable demo of Suit Up is now available! We really want to build our community and hear from our players in these early stages so this is perfect for players who want to try before they buy, or for anyone curious about joining the fight against the crawler menace! Now, let's explore what's new in Update 2.0! --- Control & Combat Improvements We've continued refining the mech handling and combat experience: - Slow-mo effects are smoother and more fluid - Enhanced missile launcher - Now displays impact area when firing, and missiles dramatically launch from the back of your mech - You can now move your mech while inputting drone commands - A timer for how long the drone input window is open, so you can't play in slow motion for ever! - Added auto-aim for all weapons --- Weapons Upgrade System Overhaul We've completely revamped the weapons progression system, these changes ensure each upgrade feels genuinely impactful and worth the investment: - All weapons now have 10 upgrade levels - Each upgrade level provides increasingly powerful improvements - Upgrade pricing now follows a more affordable and fair curve --- ## Visual Enhancements We're constantly working to make Suit Up look and feel better: - Updated enemy death splatter effects with more visceral and satisfying crawler destruction - Portals now display the specific upgrade chip you'll earn in the next level - New menus systems for the Story and Data Logs --- ## Story Expansion We've added substantial story content to enrich the world of Suit Up: - Story Implementation - Discover the narrative behind the crawler infestation and your mission - Collect data logs and the uncover secrets and lore scattered throughout the game world --- ## Bugs We've fixed some bugs as well: - Minigun Fire Rate - The minigun now performs consistently at its intended fire rate - Plasma charge vfx now properly aligned with weapon barrel. --- ## Future Plans We're not stopping here! Update 1.0

Update 1.0 Hi guys! It's been a good first month and I'm very happy for all the support received! As a solo dev I feel the weight and pressure of all of this but also the enjoyment and pride in creating all this myself. The feedback and this update have reinspired me and given me a fresh breath of motivation. I hope you all enjoy! Control Improvements Increased mech rotation and speed for smoother gameplay Reduced pulse cooldown for more tactical options Improved on ice mechanics with more realistic sliding. New Enemies The self-destructing bomb crawler! Powerful kamikaze enemies that will keep you on your toes! The spore master crawler! Empowers other crawlers with spores that heal and grant them increased powers! Improved enemy AI making movement more optimized and smoother. Economizing Weapon upgrades are more affordable, making it easier to power up! Run rewards based purely on difficulty, not completion. So quitting or unexpected exits wont lose your rewards. Weapon upgrades have a more noticeable impact, so you feel your upgrades from one run to the next. Balance Tweaks Upgrade Chips offer more positive effects with fewer downsides, making the option even more powerful! Greater variety of upgrade options available, with new stats boosts, upgrade chips and weapon mods! Environment Updates Six new levels! Two each for our first 3 biomes! Plains, Desert and Tundra! Areas have more unique feel with area-specific crawler types, getting gradually harder as you progress. General cleanup and polish throughout game environments and updating old assets.

SUIT UP - WHATS PLANNED FOR UPDATE 1.0

Greetings, Pilots! We're thrilled to announce our first major update for Suit Up is launching by the end of this month! We've been listening closely to your feedback since our initial release, and we're excited to introduce a range of improvements that will enhance your experience battling through the crawler-infested landscapes. But first an apology, our discord link was broken so we know we have probably missed many of you who tried to join for which we are very sorry! Discord With that out the way, let's dive into what's coming! --- Control Improvements One of the main feedbacks we had was mech movement so we have: - Increased mech rotation speed - Your mech will now respond more quickly to directional changes, allowing for faster target acquisition and smoother gameplay overall. - Increased mech dodge distance. - Reduced pulse cooldown. --- New Enemy Types Two new crawler variants are joining the fray, each with unique behaviours that will require fresh tactics: Bomb Crawler - Self-destructing enemy that rushes toward your mech when detected - Creates a medium-radius explosion on death Spore Master - Specialized support crawler that enhances nearby crawler units - Emits spores that increase other crawlers' movement speed and attack rate - Spore clouds also damage your mech! --- Economy Rebalance We've revamped the game's economy to make progression more rewarding and less grindy: - Weapon upgrade costs reduced across all weapons, making improvements more accessible. - Run rewards now calculated purely based on difficulty level rather than completion status. This way you're always rewarded for your effort even if a run doesn't end in success. - Weapon upgrades improvements: - More Levels available - Stats increases are balanced across the levels These changes ensure that you'll feel a meaningful progression with each upgrade you purchase. --- Balance Tweaks We've revisited the Upgrade Chip system to make tough choices more interesting and less punishing: - Upgrade Chips now offer more substantial positive effects while featuring less severe drawbacks - Expanded the variety of available upgrades --- Environment Updates We've enhanced environmental variety and polished existing areas: - Each zone now features area-specific crawler variants with unique behaviours and visual designs - Large Update to the Plains Biome with new areas and assets. - Optimized level generation for better scene management. - General clean-up and polish throughout all game environments, fixing various visual glitches and improving performance --- Future Plans While we're excited about what Update 1.0 brings to Mech Crawler, we're already planning future enhancements, including: - New mech variants with unique handling characteristics and weapon loadouts - More story elements to uncover the mysteries of the crawler infestation! --- Community Feedback Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping this update, and we want to continue this collaborative approach to development. Hot Fix 2

We've kept listening to the players and have some more fixes ready now! In this we have addressed:

  • CSV parsing issue on certain devices that failed to load data
  • Portal location issues
  • UI Issues on ultra wide screens
  • Collision issues in plains area
  • Lightning orbs effect persisting
  • Enemy spawning patterns updated
  • Weapon visibility issue when switching weapons

Hotfix - 01

We are nothing if not quick on some minor bugs that had effected some of our players on release. This includes: - Bug: Freezing in the tutorial when cancelling skip menu. - Bug: Collision issues in the plains river area. - Bug: Settings menu not applying settings in the starting lobby. - Bug: Credits menu loading starting lobby from main menu. It always happens and things slip through the cracks, but we will remain vigilant and continue to listen to our players feedback. Thank you!
