Hello investigators, Thank you so much for all your feedback and bug reports the first patch for Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer is now live! v.1.0.3.4088 changelog:

• The inventory should now try its best to remember if it was opened or closed instead of hiding off screen as soon as you click on basically anything anywhere that tends to happen every now and then in a point and click adventure
• The library computer no longer features software from the 1960s and can now handle input characters beyond A-Z and 0-9
• Fixed a number of instances of people making weird faces when saying things
• Made it almost impossible to miss a few key items in the Gazette. If this doesn't work we'll make Eileen throw them on Kathy if she tries to leave
• Moved the space bar feature tutorial to the library to space out the early tutorialization and make the game slightly more compatible with TikTok attention spans
• Improved some of the hints related to the forensic puzzle in the cabin. Kathy should now actually remember what she voiced aloud 4 seconds earlier
• Various little updates of the German translation. We don't speak a word of German, so if it's good we'll take all the credit and if it's bad we'll angrily join you with pitchforks outside the translators' office
• Kathy's bedroom window has started following the laws of physics and now emits light
• Resolved a number of bugs related to rapidly skipping through the new game trigger warning, since apparently some of you were so triggered by it you just couldn't help yourself from planting your head on your keyboard
• Fixed the notebook bookmarks flashing for ~0.17 seconds during cutscenes, because our creative director noticed and even though nobody else in the world does he's still the boss and we need to do what he says (send help please)
• Kathy no longer instantly forgets where she picked up a certain key
• Corey can no longer spawn red spray can particles near his foot as if he put it through a meat grinder. We were torn about this one since it would explain his numb toes
• Kathy is no longer scared to make eye contact with the stereo in the dorm room
• Improved the computer book hints in the vain hope of reducing the number of players throwing their PC out of the window during that puzzle
• Kathy now politely steps out of the way if she is caught by the ranger instead of chest bumping him
• Fixed the smell of Lucas' trash can making Kathy transcend to another dimension allowing her to phase through the desk
• Kathy no longer moonwalks in perpetuity out of frustration if the player tries drag and dropping the cigarette pack onto the PO boxes
• Put an end to the toolbox rag's delusions of grandeur, covering up a bunch of other tools with its clickable area
• Fixed a rare crash when loading saves when Kathy is at a precise moment in the middle of an interaction, because that's obviously a totally normal thing to do
• The priest should now make more of a angry ruckus when he repairs his car
• Eliminated an error when trying to use random inventory items on the computer power button, because using everything on everything is core gameplay baby
• Kathy has recovered from a neurological condition making her stop and drool after using a thing on another thing in one of the endgame scenes
• An extra layer of ear punishment was a nice idea in theory, but we've seen the error of our ways and now none of the endgame music will duplicate after a checkpoint restart

Vice If there was any way that Clifftop Games could further lock me into playing, its making the character a smartass. A well-written, wisecracking detective in gaming is a great way to break up the tension of an otherwise dark mystery. Im going to enjoy unraveling the story with a character like that at the front. [...] And Im glad to see that pixel art is being used more often. And when done right, it doesnt age at all. Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer is no exception; the environments and character designs are great. They showcase personality, emotion, and the grittier aspects of the game very well. Gamespew Playing Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer feels like going back in time to the heyday of the point-and-click adventure. Its pixel visuals are stunning, its writing and characterisation are on point, and its puzzles are engaging without ever being too obscure. Its bolstered further by excellent voice acting and a well-paced story even if it does end up delving into fantastical Lovecraftian horror territory. AdventureGameHotspot Right from the start of this adventure, my heart and soul were sucked into the screen and the real world practically stopped existing for me. With all due respect to the many great fantasy, sci-fi and cartoony games out there, as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats a realistic setting with relatable human characters telling a captivating story. Its no wonder I love detective and mystery games best, especially slow burns with lots of attention to detail, great interview-style conversations with an eclectic cast of characters, a cool variety of puzzles, wonderful voice actors and great music. And that is precisely what Kathy Rain 2 delivers in abundance.

• Merpperoni: I really enjoy games like these. You dont come across these games too often. I am very intrigued, I cant wait to see what the conclusion is.

Hey, Detectives! Today, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible talent behind the voices of Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer. Thanks to their brilliant performances, each character is brought to life, with their personalities and motivations coming through loud and clear. Its hard to believe its been almost a decade since Arielle Siegel first brought Kathy Rain to life. Her portrayal was so iconic that we had to catch up with her about returning to the role!

Interview with Arielle Siegel (Kathy Rain)

Q: Its been nearly 10 years since the first time you voiced Kathy. How does it feel to be back in the saddle? A: Has it really been that long?? Wow. I have such a fondness for Kathy, and I really loved playing her, so I'm thrilled to get another chance. The script for the first game was so funny and sharp (mixed with a lot of emotional depth), and I have no doubt this time will be just as dynamic. I am really excited to bring her to life again and to see how they've developed her character even further. Q: How did you prep to get back into the shoes of Kathy? A: Honestly, she has always felt super easy to connect with, so I don't feel like I do a lot of "prep". I think that's why they cast me as her initially. I just "get" her. Now, to be clear, I am not NEARLY as cool as she is, but it's fun to pretend! (In another life, I absolutely own a motorcycle.) Q: What traits of Kathy do you possess? A: I feel like we definitely have a similar sense of humor, and some of her lines legitimately crack me up. I also relate to her deep need for justice and how she wants to fight for those who can't fight for themselves. I think she's a bit braver than me and will push things a bit farther than I would, but I think that's another reason it's so fun to play her. She says the things that I might be too scared to say. Q: Whats your favorite swear word? A: This is the easiest question so far. "Fuck!" It's just so versatile!
