Hey there, just a quick update for the folks using older hardware. I didn't notice this until I looked up some reason for refunding, but apparently people couldn't run the game because of some video driver issues. I didn't expect to encounter this issue since I thought most hardware should already support this driver version or at least that the game would automatically switch to the older version. But this wasn't the case until just recently, so I had to update the game engine that I'm using to the latest version and now older hardware should also be able to run this game, hopefully. I'm not sure how the performance is going to be though. I've also adjusted the default volume for the music since it seems for some people it might be too low that they don't even notice that there is any sound. Another thing I might have fixed is that the game should now use its own icon instead of the game engine one on Windows. I never noticed that is still used the default one on Windows, but should be fixed now.
There were more people than expected that played this game. I am really glad that so many people seem to enjoy the game and thank you for all the feedback which helped my find some bugs and improve on some other parts of the game. I tried to fix as many as I could but unfortunately I couldn't figure out all of them. I might need to improve the way of sending feedback to get more information. Nevertheless I have fixed and improved quite a few things in this update. There were surprisingly a lot of players from China and the font I use does not support the language which causes some UI problems. But there is not much I can do about it. At least it can still be shown and most of the stuff still works. Anyway here are the changes for this update:
The game is finally out! This grew larger than expected, but I think it can be called finished now. I still had some other ideas planned like a multiplayer mode or more support for mods to add more languages or customize other stuff. But I dont think its really worth the time right now, maybe if there is enough interest for some stuff. Now I want to focus on my many other games ideas that I have and hopefully make something even better next time. This game taught me that I should not just go for a game idea without a clear goal in mind or without enough play testing the idea. So if you would like to help out in that regard, my discord server is open to everyone!
I've now uploaded the final demo build of the game which contains some bigger changes to the gameplay. Main changes includes:
The Steam NEXT fest has ended and there has been more players than expected. I thought I would get drowned by all the other games and would have no chance without marketing. Maybe typing games are just a niche that interested players will still find. So I have a small update and improvements for the demo version of the game. Some I noticed myself after playing and seeing all your scores. Also some feedback of yours has helped me improving the game.
