Cult Survivors is a rougelike survivor type game where your goal is to defeat enemies and bosses while leveling up with the goal of surviving 20 minutes. With each run you will gain meta currency that you can use to become stronger for future runs.Overview
Recruit followers and guide them to the right path. Choose the teachings that best fit your cult. Collect ancient knowledge to better equip yourself for your future attempts. And survive the onslaught of other cults and their leaders trying to take you down! If you survive long enough you will be the last cult standing!Features

Hello Founders!
As mentioned in an earlier post this week we are moving the game into the Early Access stage! With that move comes a pretty substantial update to the game as well! We have added a lot of new content and even a new game mode! For more details on these things please read below:
[olist]Third Map: We have added a third map to the game! The new map is set in a city that has recently been hit by an apocalyptic event, causing you and the enemy cults to fight for control of the abandoned and empty city.
This map is different not only visually than the other two but also features an infinitely long but narrow road

[/*][/*]Cult Families by Map: We have made it so maps now only spawn certain families.
Each map now has two cult families assigned to it to pull enemies from
[/*]For bosses, the first two bosses only will spawn from the assigned families, but the final two bosses will be randomly chosen from all the other cult families
[/*]For the final boss, since we only have one currently, it will always spawn that one but once we implement more then this will be based on the map and families as well
[/*][/*]New boss: We have added a new boss for the chronically online family! For the longest time it only had one boss so this one has been planned for quite some time. It has many unique mechanics that are completely new so we hope you have fun.

This is a faster paced game mode that is more challenging to complete as enemies and bosses are spawning in more quicker
[/*]This mode is an alternative to the 20 minute game mode for when you want to play a quicker game and are on a time limit!

We have improved performance slightly for late game! We will continue to try to improve performance further in upcoming updates.

While todays update does not include patch notes (hold tight those are coming soon!), todays updates are still pretty substantial! We would like to announce that Founder of the Final Cult is entering the Early Access Stage! The game will be available in Early Access on the June 26th with a pretty big update coming along with it! This also means that the demo will stay up but will not be updated further anymore.

Today we launch a pretty substantial update that changes the game in a significant way! We have changed the leveling up of your followers to make it more streamlined. This has resulted in major changes to the balance of the game for thing such as: enemy health and damage, follower damage, and boss health. Additionally we have reworked all the followers ascensions now and made them more unique and powerful! Finally we have also reworked status effects and overall increased the ability to spread status effects.

Fellow Founders!
We are excited to launch another major update for our game that adds to it in substantial ways! We have added achievements that reward you for completing certain milestones now in the game. We have reworked the library fully so it is now more impactful for each upgrade you take. Additionally the library now has bits of lore for you to enjoy and get an idea of the world you are trying to establish your cult in. Shields have been reworked now and changed dramatically as well, to make them feel more impactful. And thanks to our Sound Director we have been able to add a bunch of amazing sounds for all effects in game and background music to the Jungle map.

Fellow Founders!
We are excited to bring you a major update that changes our game substantially in many ways! We have added a handy tutorial system that will help all the new Cult Founders understand what it takes to lead their cult to glory. We also reworked the lighting and colour system within the game to help with tracking your character and enemies and reduce visual noise. We noticed that the melee followers were inconsistent and thus reworked them. For detailed information please read below:
General Changes
Tutorial:
- We noticed that when you are playing Founder of the Final Cult for the first time it can be a little overwhelming and confusing. So to help new players out we added a small but helpful tutorial that will explain the basics of the game. This tutorial will first appear when you start your first ever run in the game. But dont worry if you forget or zoom through it! When you are in a run, you can pause the game and there will be a help button that will bring up the tutorial again.
Reworked Lighting and Colour:
- We have fully reworked the lighting and colour system in game so that the action is much easier to follow now. Everything within the game now has an outline to help track it better, such as your character, your followers' attack, enemies, enemy projectiles, and etc. Additionally we have reworked the lighting on everything so that it fits visually better on both maps thus making it help with tracking and reducing the visual noise in late game.
Melee Followers Rework:
- We noticed that the melee followers were inconsistent across their category and compared to other followers so we reworked their attack logic to hopefully make them easier to understand and therefore use. Before their attack would follow their movement and as result make it hard to line them up to hit enemies. Now their attack will complete one swing from when the attack started even if the follower has moved. Therefore it is easier to know when the attack starts and what it will hit.

We are excited to announce that the steam page for our first game is now live! And to celebrate that we have playable demo for you all to enjoy thats available now!
In Cult Survivors, your goal is to survive the onslaught of cultists and cult leaders that are trying to take you and your cult down! Recruit your very own followers and guide them to their ascended state to help you survive! Improve your cult passively with minor and major teachings. Use ancient knowledge, earned every run, to make your cult stronger permanently.
We are diligently improving and adding onto the game so please wishlist it to follow the development and be notified when Cult Survivors is ready to launch!
