Yuel was born to be the king of Indra.
Ascending to the throne at a mere eighteen years of age following his father's death, Yuel is tasked with running the whole country without being amply prepared for such a massive undertaking. A series of poor decisions damages Yuel's popularity with his people and his own advisors, until Yuel's own cousin, Tavi, leads a rebellion to depose him.
Tavi's rebellion is a success, and little over a year into his contentious reign, Yuel is toppled from his position of power and influence. Brought down in the world, Indra's former king is imprisoned in the palace's prison and left to rot.
Convinced that his life is over, Yuel insists that his older cousin should hurry up and execute him. Indra does not need two power-hungry men vying to be the country's king, and leaving Yuel alive would only divide the country further. Why can Tavi not finish what he started?
Tavi finds himself paralysed, however, with indecision. Incapable of killing his own family member, Tavi chooses to keep Yuel hidden away inside the palace, after convincing all of his advisors that he has put him to death. Tavi wants to treat his younger cousin with a degree of kindness, but Yuel is unimpressed. How dare Tavi try to extend the olive branch after effectively ruining his life: stripping him of his dignity in the process?
Is it possible for the two estranged cousins to ever see eye to eye - and why, despite everything, has Tavi come to care for his younger cousin so intensely?

Hi everyone,\n\nThis post is exactly what it says on the tin. I wrote a bonus chapter set in the All Scars and Starlight universe uhhh... Not last year, actually, because that would be 2025 (wow, time flies), but in late 2024, because I thought there were a few more interesting things I could explore in this universe.\n\nThe bonus chapter was meant to be on the shorter side, but I got carried away and it wound up being around 100,000 words, making it a full-length story in its own right haha...\n\nI liked this chapter enough that I decided to turn it into a visual novel, so I got to work editing the script (I was able to trim it down to 80,000 words) and commissioning assets.\n\nThis bonus content is now finished, and it\'s been fully coded. I\'m just waiting to get it proofread, but after that, it\'ll be all done! Yay!\n\nThe new content is set in the large timeskip which takes place between the end of the main story and the epilogues of the good/\'true\' ending. It takes place about one year after the events of Scars proper, and it details Yuel and Tavi\'s developing (or disintegrating?) relationship during Yuel\'s captivity.\n\nThe story features a lot of mental breakdowns, trauma, tears, and all that good stuff. \nI wasn\'t sure how to release the bonus content initially, but I decided it would make the most sense to release it as paid DLC on Steam which needs the base VN to run. The bonus chapter will make no sense if you haven\'t read All Scars and Starlight first, so releasing it on its own seemed a bit unintuitive, and the bonus content is too long and has too many unique art assets to release it for free.\n\nI\'m hoping to release the bonus content before the end of the month, but we\'ll see how long it takes to be proofread. The DLC has been approved for release by Valve already, so I\'ll be able to release it the moment it\'s done.\n\nThank you to everybody who read All Scars and Starlight, and thank you to everybody who has supported me in general.
