Dear players!
We are happy to release a new version of Dawnmakers demo today. Based on the feedback with received from playtests, weve improved the overall experience of the tutorial, with the intent of making it both easier to understand and follow, and to make it a more satisfying and rewarding moment.
Heres the breakdown of all the changes since the last release (2024-03-21):
Quality of life
- Added a feedback when you gain a new building.
- Improved the controls to play cards to allow both drag&dropping and just plain clicking a card.
- Added the number of remaining lighthouses to repair in the Eclairium tooltip.
- Added the number of remaining turns before running out in the Luminoil tooltip.
Tutorial
- Moved the tutorial goals into a more visible box, added a bunch of small effects on them.
- Added a tooltip to explain the Smog.
- Added many tooltips all around the tutorial to explain the less intuitive things.
Cosmetic
- Refactored the end game screens into a single screen.
- Added fireworks around the city when you win a game.
- Added a button to watch your city after youve won.
- Added a custom cursor.

Dawnmaker is a solo strategy game combining elements of board game and deck building. In a world covered by a toxic Smog, only you can rekindle the ancient lighthouses and bring light and life back. Construct buildings, gain new cards, generate resources and improve your central lighthouse to unlock new building space.
- Optimize your deck — Gain increasingly powerful cards as you improve your city. Your cards and buildings interact in various ways: choose them wisely to create the most powerful combinations!
- Build efficient cities — Make the best of your limited space by optimally positioning your buildings. Improve your lighthouse to repel the Smog and expand your city.
- Manage your resources — Grow farms, build industries, develop science and inspire your people to create the rarest of resources: Eclairium!
- Reclaim the lost continent — The continent of Heksiga has been covered by a toxic Smog. Repair and improve magical lighthouses to repel that Smog and reclaim the land, region by region.
- Recover lost technologies — Explore vestiges of the old Empire and rediscover technologies that were lost to the Smog.
