ASURAJANG Dev Notes - April 30, 2025

Hello Everyone, This is Sangjin Kim, the Director of ASURAJANG. It is a pleasure to be able to greet you all in the first edition of the ASURAJANG Dev Notes! It has already been a month since ASURAJANG was officially launched. It feels as if several months have passed already, but it's only been a month, which makes it feel like time is passing by slowly for me. That feeling is probably because I've been so busy identifying and solving the many problems that have arisen over the past month. I've listed the problems that have arisen so far below, and there sure have been a lot of them.

  • Payment issues, character balance issues, infinite combos, XP balance issues, Peach Trees and the HP Regen meta, one-shot combos, players getting stuck on the ground, players suddenly dying by falling, frequent disconnections during gameplay, teaming, client launch failures, cheat engine abuse, blinking, more balance issues, sudden ping spikes, and more.
After reflecting on why so many issues arose, I have come to conclude it was because we launched the game without fully completing preparations for Live Service. In this respect, I would like to make an apology to all of the players who played ASURAJANG up until now. We are aware that many of our players are concerned about whether ASURAJANG will be able to continue services. We also believe you may be curious about how committed the ASURAJANG Dev Team is to this project, which is why I am writing these Dev Notes. To put it simply, the Dev Team has not given up on ASURAJANG and plans to continue improving the game. We believe that ASURAJANG offers a special kind of entertainment that satisfies a specific niche, and we still see ample potential and room for growth. With that in mind, I would like to explain the areas we have identified as priorities for improvement moving forward. First, we will be providing some essential PVP features. We are currently developing an [Account Overview] feature that allows you to view your play history and overall statistics. Now that your play is recorded, each game will have meaning. Additionally, your records will be displayed in an easy-to-understand statistical format. However, since we have not collected and stored all the data up to this point, data collection will begin once the feature is added. We kindly ask for your understanding and patience regarding this matter. We are also developing a [Report] feature that allows players to report malicious behavior such as hacking or teaming. We have found that because ASURAJANG offers a Solo Battle Royale mode, it is easy for teaming to occur. We consider teaming to be a highly detrimental act that ruins the game experience, so we plan to take strict measures against it. This is a feature that should have been included at launch, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. The reporting feature is scheduled to be introduced in May. Second, we will be introducing Ranked Matches. We are currently hard at work developing the [Ranked Match] system, which is an essential feature for PVP games, but is currently missing in ASURAJANG. As mentioned in various interviews, we are planning to implement Ranked Matches centered around the Arena mode. However, we are also aware that some players would prefer Ranked Matches for the Battle Royale mode. However, if we were to launch Ranked Matches for Battle Royale modes with a small player pool, it could lead to matchmaking delays due to players being spread out across matching pools. Therefore, we plan to first introduce Ranked Matches for Arena mode, which require fewer players, and then consider adding Battle Royale Ranked Matches once we determine that there is a sufficient player base to support them. Arena mode Ranked Matches are scheduled for testing in late June and to be officially launched in Season 1. Third, we will be introducing various Quality-of-Life(QoL) Improvements. We are well aware that ASURAJANG's current QoL leaves something to be desired. Especially, new players often find it difficult to adapt to the game and tend to leave, which is a significant issue. We are currently developing various features to address this, and we plan to roll them out gradually. Additionally, we are working on improvements to make teamplay more seamless. For example, we are considering features such as notifications when a team member is under attack, the introduction of a smart ping system, and displaying the attack range of team members. We are also working on introducing various minor QoL improvements, such as allowing players to mute game sounds when the client is running in the background while keeping matchmaking notification sounds active, providing more detailed information in the Combat Info window, and displaying interactable level objects on the Battle Royale minimap. Additionally, the Xbox review is currently underway, and the PS review is scheduled to begin soon. With the introduction of console versions of ASURAJANG, we are preparing to improve controller responsiveness to ensure a seamless console gaming experience. And I'm sure many of you are curious about the Season 0 Rank Rewards, so I'll take a moment to explain them now. Players who rank 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Solo and Trio will receive a Ranking Trophy Remains Appearance customization item.
Additionally, Emojis will also be provided. These emojis will be given to players who rank 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and within the top 10 and top 100 of both Solos and Trios modes. Since the rank rewards for Solos and Trios modes are the same, if players receive the same reward for the same rank, the rank reward item will only be provided once.

Finally, I would like to briefly introduce some characters that are currently under Development. As you may have expected, Brunn and Erin will rejoin the battlefield with completely renewed actions. Brunn will now use a Giant Partisan, instead of a long mace. He is being developed as a character whose combat style involves reading the flow of enemy attacks and exploiting openings. Erin is a traditional mage character that utilizes various elemental magic, with the highest control difficulty among all characters introduced so far.
Additionally, Nadi and a Female Knight (name to be announced later) will be joining in Season 2. We will be revealing their action designs in a future edition of the ASURAJANG Dev Notes, so please look forward to them.
