Were making this game to invite you to explore intriguing subjects with us, and to watch the world and ourselves as human beings from new perspectives. Examine the surreal state of reality and even have a laugh at it, while also experiencinga heartfelt and bittersweet story. Hope youll laugh (and cry) with us!

You play as the non-binary character Rin, who arrives in an unfamiliar city to start their new position at a company that rents out actors for real life situations. This is the start of a new life, far away from the daily struggles on the small island - but as Rin takes on their new endeavours, their past is catching up with them. Soon theyll have to deal with who they are and will become.

Dear players! The release of Truer than You has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Weve been asked to resubmit our game build to Steam, and therefore well need to delay the release slightly, until weve gotten the approval.

Truer than You is about the search for meaning in a conformist society - set in a microcosm where commodified relationships, tech bros, climate activists, bored housewives and undercover artists are all in the mixture.

The androgyne main character Rin arrives in an unfamiliar city, to start their new position at a secretive company that rents out actors for real life situations. This is the start of a new life, far away from the daily struggles at Rins home on a small island. But as Rin gets on with their new endeavours, their past is catching up with them, and theyll have to deal with who they are and will become.

Truer than You was conceived based upon an article we read about a real company renting out people to play others in social situations. We were still working on Knife Sisters, but thought: This might be the set-up for our next game!

We have been producing this game since 2020, and its been a bumpy ride. The set-up and complexity of it has sometimes been hard to handle. But we are soon at the finishing line - and are extremely proud to present you the game next week!

For the Next Fest, we have updated the demo - the updates are listed below.

Demo updates:

• We have added a new intro to the game.
• The rating given by clients is now shown in the assignment details in the in-game app, and the mean rating is shown on the apps starting page.
• The whole assignment system is updated, and this demo is the first that uses this new system. We managed to keep the Chinese localization of the demo, while rewriting a lot of the functionality.
• The in-game menu has gotten some new icons, and we took out the menu background since it took too much focus.
  

Truer than You is a game about love, loss and being lost in life. We have been working on it for a long time, and are finally ready to show it to the world!!
