found an issue with Leaderboards correctly initializing on game launch, which prevented scores to be uploaded to the Steam Leaderboards.
and another issue where Time to Clear for the Boss Rush was overwritten if the "Upload
Leaderboards Scores" button was used.
Both issues have now been fixed. Please be sure to be on the latest version (1.3.2.4) before you manually push your scores to the Steam Leaderboards via the Settings menu.
There was an issue preventing the unlocking of the playable character Harry, if the dialogue options in Level 1 are unlocked in a specific order. This has been fixed now.
Thanks to Evad for pointing that out! Details here: Steam Forum > Pancake Patrol > General Discussions
This update is a continuation from 1.3.2.1.
Both are addressing potential crashes on the game over screen due to memory leaks due to too many simultaneously assets trying to be unloaded at the same time. I changed it so it now unloads everything in order, one after another.
the game is now fully localized into Neutral Spanish.
Although I've double checked everything, if you find any errors in the translation, places were text is too long and bleeds over borders, or something being still in English (except player character names), feel free to point it out in the steam community forums!
- added a slider (0-0.05) instead of an on/off switch for "camera damping" and set the default value to 0.016
- fixed a bug where the "explosion" effect would not lead to the game over screen if damage is continuous
- corrected different fonts used in the options menu
- updated defeat effects for some bosses
- groundwork done for the Elite Only Mode
Snowflake found a secret path through the village. Are you up for the challenge?
This new game mode features a true bullet hell experience with everyone's favourite dog - Snowflake!
The rules here are a bit different compared to the standard levels:
- Pancake only
- No "auto aim", bullets always fire towards the right
- Unlimited pick ups to increase amount of pancakes thrown, increase pancake throw speed and lower heir cooldown
- your damage scales with your Upgrades. Level up Speed, Health, Vortex, Damage and Plot Armor. Each upgrade increases your damage by 0.1
This level is available right from the beginning, as an alternative progression path to the graveyard, which is more focussed on the bullet heaven aspect of the game. But be warned! Without any upgrades it'll be very hard!

The fan favourite is finally playable!
Play through Pancake Patrol as the one and only Cotton Candy Cloud!
The Cotton Candy Cloud is equipped with 2 special passive abilities for a very unique gameplay experience.
Just like it's ability counterpart, it's movement is random, but to make up for this increased challenge, it has boosted stats:
- HP: 777
- Speed: 77
- Armor: 77%
- Damage: 1.77
- Weapons: 7
- Utilities: 7

Changes
Increased Movement Speed for all characters except Goolops and Snowflake by +10Sugar Rush buffed from +15 to +20 Movement Speed per Level
New
Labels for all Levels on the map, for easier orientationImplemented Camera Damping for a smoother camera. Can be disabled in the options
Screen Shake and Camera Damping can now be changed during gameplay
Preparations
finished preparations for the free DLC characterIll be rolling out an update for Pancake Patrol soon, though I still need a bit more time to polish up a few details.
Right now, Im preparing an extra playable character and working on a major update, which will bring in a new game mode and more gameplay features. This update will lay the groundwork for these bigger additions.
Both of these will be released as free DLC. Personally, Im not a fan of paid DLC, but by releasing them as free DLC, itll be clear that this is bonus content. Especially since the new playable character is totally unbalanced and really just for fun
- fixed a sound issue in Level 4. Details here: Steam Forum > Pancake Patrol > General Discussions
- fixed a bug, where Level 1 of a special weapon, unlocked through a synergy was still showing up in the shop, if multiple level ups were queued.
New:
- Every character special is unique and good for different game modes, yet Bellas special was the only one which was totally useless in boss fights. This changes now, as it now can block projectiles, acting as a static shield

Bugfixes & changes:
- exp gems are now collected gradually over a time window of 2 seconds and not all at once to prevent a huge amount of exp gems causing a lag spike when all are collected at the same time.
- fixed a bug, where collecting multiple magnets at once could set the collection radius to 99999 for the whole run
- boss HP now properly scales with difficulty settings. before some bosses had their multiplier applied twice and exponentially
- higher difficulty now grant higher scores. they did before, but since time is a score factor and higher difficulties take longer, this negatively impacted higher difficulties too much
- Goolop's Goo is despawning later now, if it does not hit an enemy
- changed Marsha's and Whysies HP pool.
- fixed a knockback issue. Mostly relevant for Goolops' Goo and the Maple Syrup Tornado. Thank you Kiffaz for pointing it out! Details about the problem and fix here: Steam Forum > Pancake Patrol > General Discussions
- fixed a sound bug on the Level 1 elite enemies, where it did not loop properly and created parts without music
Bob works well as a starting character because of his balanced stats. To make him more useful in the long run and differentiate him more, mostly from Harry, the following changes have been made:
- Bob +15%HP
- Harry -15% HP
Both changes also reflect the synergy with their respective special skill
other adjustments and fixes:
- stationary witches in Level 3 will now become targetable for auto-aim attacks after 90 seconds. previously they were ignored by those attacks.
- fixed an issue where enemy armor is persisting after a level, resulting in players dealing no damage on low levels or without upgrades
- fixed an issue where the tutorial screen was visible on the map screen after completion
- fixed an oversight, where the exp gem collection sound was set to "mute"
- fixed path texture in level 1 starting and ending abruptly
- fixed shadow on the Sakura Pillar attack
- fixed sakura pillar sprites overlapping each other if shooting left and right
- fixed a shader on Marsha's kit
- added screen shake, particle explosion and sound effect to big Gift Boxes
- added screen shake to player death
- changed flat enemy defense from -10/+10 to -30/+30 and added it for bosses and elites
- outside of Horde Mode, the negative modifiers are currently hidden and happen when specific conditions are met or triggered in the main levels
- the positive modifiers can be triggered by defeating Gift Boxes after the letter for Bella's unlock condition is acquired
Hi all! o/
Thank you all so much for your support of my first little game and all the feedback you are sending me!
Here are the patchnotes:
General Stuff:
- NEW Refresh Button on Level Up Screen
- It is now possible to refresh upgrades on level up three times. I might add rewards or drops to the maps which can increase this. Looking forward to your feedback
Balancing Changes:
- Level 1 Synergy weapons are now unlocked automatically if the required prerequisites are fullfilled.
- Horde Mode negative slots appear more often, the longer the player survives. these thresholds have been pushed back by 60 seconds
- Maple Syrup Tornados are slightly bigger now
- Changed Bob's Synergy weapon with Bella's
- The hidden exit now appears near the last cleared objective in Level 2
Bugfixes:
- Bob now correctly turns around when his special is active.
- Elite enemy drops now correctly drop apart from each other and not on top
Known Issues:
- [strike]Playing a level and then quitting the game from the main menu afterwards may lead to a crash. Issue is related to saving the file. I'm working on a fix.[/strike] FIXED
Balancing:
- changed damage curve for most early weapons
- before the damage was quite low for the first 4 to 7 levels, depending on the weapon. now its more spread out, so early levels in a weapon are worthwhile. this should help with early progression and bad RNG
- increased coin rewards on stronger enemies (magic ghosts in particular)
General:
- fixed a soft lock issue, which could occure if a level up and player death are triggered at the same time
Horde Mode:
- fixed a bug where sound was overlapping
Map Screen:
- fixed a bug where Level 3 wasnt showing, although it was unlocked
Boss Mode:
- changed Boss Rush image, to signal its available right from the start
Steam Achievements and Leaderboards should be working now.
Past achieved Achievements and highscores can be unlocked in the Settings menu
level 2:
- proper lighting on candles
- introductory big slime monster, to show it's new mechanic on level start
- adjusted enemy spawns throughout the level
- lowered boss's eye HP by 50% on lowest difficulty
level 3:
- fixed apprentice witch attacks ignoring paused game state
- increased exp from small gift boxes
- fixed sound issues
general:
- increased exp and coin gains from harder enemies
- increased length of Snowflake's special attack from 10s to 20s
just a small update fixing a progression bug past Level 2, caused by a SteamDeck check getting stuck.
This check only affects tutorial input images, so I removed it for now.
New Features:
- Added the following Steam leaderboards:
- Horde Mode Time Survived (higher = better).
- Horde Mode Highscore (higher = better).
- Boss Rush Clear Time (lower = better).
- Boss Rush Highscore (higher = better).

Balance Changes:
- Increased damage for all weapons at max level.
- Reduced Evelyn's HP by 64% (Level 1 Boss).
- Reduced Ruffles' HP by 23% (Level 3 Boss).
- Increased enemy damage across the board.
- Increased elite enemies' HP from the second spawn onward (Level 1).
- Increased enemy speed and defense after a specific threshold is reached or manually triggered (Level 2).
- Increased pickup area of weapons in Stage 4, to prevent starting the boss with no weapons equipped.
- Changed damage modifier difficulty setting.
- Slightly reduced the difficulty of Evelyn's bullet patterns (Normal version only; this change does not affect the Alternative and Beta versions).
- Increased coin rewards on higher difficulties.
- Lowered maximum coin costs for all upgrades.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed sound levels in level 1.
- Fixed a bug where achievements (in-game and Steam), which should only trigger on completing a level, are triggered on the player's death.
- Fixed an issue where mouse and keyboard/controller controls could highlight multiple upgrades on level up, making it unclear which one was picked.
- Fixed an issue where enemies became untargetable after the number of enemies on screen exceeded 500.
- Fixed graphic issues on musical notes, musical tornado, and musical wave.
- Fixed an issue where the window was always on top.
- Fixed in-game live score display to properly include character-specific multipliers.
- Fixed overlapping text on the level-up screen caused by the introduction of the new "synergy" information.
Gather your spatulas and get ready to flip some pancakes when Pancake Patrol releases on the 16th of October 2024!
Hi there!
the last months have been very stressful and I only made slow progress, unfortunately.
Nevertheless, I'm almost finished! Blobking was one of the missing bosses, which is now complete, which only leaves the final boss to work on, Growl. After that it's a lot of polishing and implementing Steam API stuff, like achievements and leaderboard.
How hard can that be, right?
I'm still aiming for a September '24 release, but if this will change, I'll have you informed end of this month.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
March has ended a while ago and I made a lot of progress!
The UI got a complete overhaul and is now a lot prettier and intuitive. I completed the base versions for all stages and almost all bosses, only the final boss is missing now and I've started to tackle the sound effect and music design.
Hello Pancake, Bullet Heaven and Bullet Hell Fans!
The month of February is over and I made heaps of progress with Pancake Patrol!
I'm almost finished with the default game mode's levels and halfway through the initial line up of boss fights and I'm confident I can wrap up 100% of the base content in March. After that I'll have a lot of polishing and balancing to do.
Once this is done, I'll focus on preparing the Demo for the Steam Next Fest in June
Hello Pancake, Bullet Heaven and Hell Fans!
Today I just want to give you all a quick update about the progress of Pancake Patrol.
It's going really well, I've almost completed the new UI, which is a lot more beautiful than before and slowly but surely everything is coming together and looking better and better every day!
I also began to simplify the UI overall as it was too fragmented, so the DPS Dummy moved to Options, Variety Modes were moved to the new Map screen, simply titled "Play" and everything boss related is unified under "Boss Menu"
Here is an example of the new Boss Modes menu:
As for gameplay content, I've finished Levels 1-3, the Horde Mode, 4 out of 10 boss fights, DPS Dummy and the Harry 1v1 fight.
There is still a lot of work to do, but I'm confident that nothing stands in the way of a release in summer 2024.
