The accessibility menu has a lot of options in it so make sure you take a look. You can change the length of day or slow down the fishing mini game among many other things.

You can check to see if an npc has a quest for you by looking at your map and hovering over a point of interest.

Make sure to go into the village on day 3 and talk to Tonna to learn about the dungeon.
