Hi everyone, and welcome to another VEIN Weekly. This one\'s short as we\'re doing a lot of manual work on broad features, as well as getting started on team expansion soon, but we still want to update you regardless. As usual, these changes are slated for a future update and aren\'t in the game yet.\n\n-\n\nWe managed to release Hotfix 17 out this past weekend. Thankfully, there weren\'t any major bugs. We\'re still aware of several bugs still in-game that are taking a bit longer to fix, like placing items on vehicles or server desync issues, so we will work on those either for 0.023 or Hotfix 18.\n\nI spent some time in the second half of last week working on bugfixes.\n\n-\n\nYan has been working on bugs regarding electricity and water disconnects in both singleplayer and multiplayer, and has fixed a variety of crashes that have been in the game for a long time, for the next hotfix (or major update, if that comes soon enough).\n\nWe added movement speed settings for the next update, so server owners can change run/walk/crouch/swim speed at their leisure. We also bumped up the FOV slider to a maximum of 120 by community request.\n\nAzi has been working on a major part of our upcoming hunting update new fish and fishing systems. There are now over 100 fish and amphibians you can catch. These will be used as bait to catch other fish and be used in a variety of other hunting-related applications. Fish now have rarities, seasonal preferences, times-of-day, weather preferences, etc. that they prefer, as well as some fish and amphibians that are only found in certain water bodies on the map.\n\n[/img]\nThe new fishing system will have fishing rods with interchangeable parts which all require maintenance and are used to catch different fish varieties.\n\nI\'m continuing to do design work on the new hunting systems for hunting game and wildlife, such as skinning, bloodletting, and butchery.\n\nRemancer has composed a new song for the game, themed around character creation.\n\nWe\'ve added a button to the admin menu for the next update to remove abandoned utility cabinets in multiplayer, as utility cabinets do not decay.\n\nThe majority of this week, I\'ve been working towards gamepad support, localization fixes, and UI text scaling. These involve me going through every piece of UI in the entire game, which is very tedious. That said, it\'s nearly complete as of this writing. Gamepad support will likely start with mostly a virtual cursor (where the gamepad analog stick controls an on-screen cursor) but we will flesh this out over time. Thankfully, we only have to do these once.\n\nFinally, we\'ve been planning the first new post-Early Access areas we\'re working on. We\'re going to be expanding the map west of Redford for a few kilometers, then southwest of Redford and finally south to the town of Au Sable Forks.\n\nWhen we do map updates, we typically plan out geography, followed by towns (or villages), determine the roads and geography as well as buildings that will be present, and finally add buildings, detail, and various other visual features. We\'ve finished the geography planning stage of the rivers and water bodies in the final map. You will be able to use a variety of boats to traverse these, avoiding zombies and animals on your journey.\n\n-\n\nSo that\'s about it for this weekly update. Like we said, it\'s very small, simply because we\'ve been doing very repetitive tasks that we need to get done. We\'re also going to be expanding the team very soon, so I\'ve been spending some time working on internal company stuff. If you are interested and have 3D art, animation, QA, programming, or similar skills, please send a portfolio or resume to jobs@ramjetstudios.com.\n\nThanks for reading, and we\'ll see you next week![/p]
