Per request, weve added in a basic Free Camera Mode to Wave Break that will allow players to capture custom footage. As it is still very basic and rudimentary, we will look into making improvements based on feedback from our community as we move forward.

How to Access Free Camera Mode

Entering Chat

Boot the game.

Select and start any game mode.

Once in the game mode, press Enter on the keyboard to access Chat.

Once in Chat, you can type in specific commands. [/olist]

Turn Off UI

In Chat, type in: /toggle_ui

To turn UI back on, press Enter to access Chat, then type in: /toggle_ui [/olist]

Spectator Mode

Access Chat in game.

In Chat, type in: /toggle_spectate; if done correctly, youll spawn as Bigpin (the bear)

Pause the game and select End Run.

Start the game again; you will now start in free cam, and can move the camera using the left analog stick, and pan the camera with the right analog stick.

To turn off Spectator Mode, press Enter to access Chat, then type in: /toggle_spectate [/olist]

Freeze Camera Position

Access Chat in game

In Chat, type in: /freeze_camera_position; if done correctly, the camera will now be in the fixed position, and will remain that position until it is disabled.

To turn off Freeze Camera Position, press Enter to access Chat, then type in: /freeze_camera_position [/olist]

Freeze Camera Rotation

Access Chat in game.

In Chat, type in: /freeze_camera_rotation; if done correctly, you will be unable to change the camera rotation/panning.

Multiple Displays

If you have a multiple display setup, first go to the Options Menu, and on the first tab for Graphics, select Multiple Display Splitscreen.

In the Main Menu, have a second player join in (local co-op).

Start any game mode, then access Chat.

Youll find that Display 1 or Player 1 will be able to input commands into the Chat, and it will directly affect Display 2 or Player 2; you can use Player 2 as a means to capture the specific footage you like, with Player 1 accessing the commands. [/olist]

Hey Everyone!

First off, Wave Break is officially Steam Deck Verified!

The Steam Deck is now officially supported with a native Linux build! (Some UI will be automatically scaled up for the smaller screen)

But that's not all...remember the flamingo from the launch trailer?

We've added her in as a playable character!

Here are the additional changes we've made to the game:

• Added new cosmetic items!
• Changed the menu text for "Online Lobbies" to "Custom Games" to make it more clear.
• Fix for semi transparent Park Creator previews for non stroke items on Vulkan.
• Made the first COMBO mission in the game a bit easier to complete on the initial lower stats.
• Updated internal Steamworks.NET
• The Tutorial now requests that you do some of the steps 3 times, in an effort to help people remember the controls better.
• The Tutorial now has an additional step of completing a single 1,000 point combo.
• Lowered the Campaign "Next Level" requirement from 60% to 30%.
• The initial stats on Big Pin have been upped by 2 or 3 per stat (mostly Grind and Automatic balance).
• Rescheduled all events to end at midnight PST instead of UTC.
• Events now show the final results the second the event is over, instead of the following day.

Were prioritizing fixes and adding features based on fan feedback, and we thank all of you who have been active on our Discord for helping to pave the way for these updates. This update will serve as a foundation for future upcoming updates, where we are introducing Team Based Game Modes, a new Signaling System, 18 new cosmetic items, new Park Creator pieces, and general quality of life bug fixes and optimization.

Team Based Game Modes

With Team Based Game Modes, players will now be able to team up with their friends and other SkateBOATERS in 4 vs 4 matches in Time Attack and Deathmatch. In Team Time Attack, the total overall score from each team member will be tabulated, and the team with the highest score will win the match. For Team Deathmatch, the team with the most kills will win the match. Team based game modes allow for some interesting strategies not available in regular competitive multiplayer. For example, players who are more adept to the tricking mechanic can focus on raising the overall score in Team Time Attack, while other team members concentrate on disrupting the opponents trick combos by shooting at them.

The Signaling System

Brand new to the Park Creator, which will allow for deeper customization, more complex level designs, and different gameplay elements, is the Signaling System. If youre familiar with WireMod, or Redstone in Minecraft, these features will be easy to pick up and implement. New Park Creator Pieces

Below are some new Park Creator pieces weve added into the game; most of these pieces pertain the to Signaling System weve newly created:

• Signal Sources: pulse, alternators, constants, randoms
• Signal Wires
• Signal Triggers: laser tripwire, button, lever, damage target, physics trigger (player only), physics trigger (anything)
• Logic Gates: AND, OR, NAND, XOR, NOT, DELAY, EXTEND, BUFFER, SWITCH, PULSE
• Dynamic Park Piece markers: enabler, movers
• Pickups: chickens, hotdogs
• Custom game functions: +1 point to nearest player, end run
• Prop Spawners: beach balls, buoys, chairs, trash cans
• Particle Spawners
• Death Zones
• Lights
• Speakers
• Teleporters
• Jump Pads

New Cosmetics Added into the Loot Pool

Weve added 18 new cosmetic items that can be acquired in-game at Big Beavys Boats and Beach Boutique shops to customize your character when taking on other skateBOATERS.

In this upcoming update, we will be introducing the Signal System into the Park Creator game mode. These tools will allow for deeper customization, more complex level designs, and you can even add your own game play element!

Essentially, we're making the buttons work, and we're letting YOU choose what to do with them!

If you're familiar with WireMod (Garry's Mod) or Minecraft's RedStone, these tools will be easy for you to pick up and use! The DEV preview we put out has a high level overview of the tools added, but for now, here's a quick overview of the new tools.

The Signal Tools

• Source Blocks - Signal Source Blocks create a signal. Timers, pulses, constants are blocks that will send a signal in a variety of ways.
• Wires - Used to transfer signals. note: We've added the ability to wire up MOST park pieces that were already part of the park creator...try it out with some explosives or speed boost decals!
  
• Logic Gates - Logic Blocks allow you to alter the signal being sent before it reaches its target. Logic Blocks take two inputs and have an output depending on the state of the inputs. Logic Blocks touching other Logic Blocks do not need a wire.
  
• Triggers - Connect triggers to any of the interactive objects, and it will send a signal anytime the action happens. Triggers include tripwires, buttons, levers and toggle switches.
• Dynamic Park Pieces - Create moving platforms at 1, 2, or 4 times speed using the same placement system as our custom rail & ramp tools. Enablers, which can turn entire park pieces off and on.
  
• Particle Emitters - When activated, these will emit particles; weve given you a few of the in-game particles to select from
• Speakers - Connect a speaker to any of the in-game buttons or triggers and have it play one of the selected in-game sound effects
• Pick ups - A selection of objects for you to place throughout your level, When picked up, they output a signal.
• Lights - Connect in-game objects to any in-game light and have it light up, or turn off (with the use of Logic Blocks)
• Teleporters - Create two different locations, and teleport between them
  
• Custom Game Functions - were excited about these ones. These pieces are very specific in nature, one, when activated, will give the player that activates it points. The other will end the round.

These features will release on PC Wednesday, September 15th.

Major changes:

- fixes for steam leaderboard shenanigans + there is no longer a weekly variant + uploads are now queued such that they don't exceed steam's rate limits + if the queued uploads don't finish before the game is closed, they are saved and finished next time the game is ran - steam leaderboards now track the character and boat you are using, as well as attach a timestamp for when you submitted your score. - bails now block input in more areas of the player controller - leaderboard uploads are now queued internally, such that they won't ever go over the steam rate limit (10 uploads per 10 minutes); so data does not get lost - fix for pause button not unpausing as well - tweaks to automatics/half pipes, you get a bit more air + some fixes for jumping at strange angles or velocities

Everything else:

- don't wait on player config before sending park data - fix for ghost CPUs appearing in the park creator when the host is testing - fix for stacked env particles in level editor - favorting lobbies no longer gets the ui in a weird state - mirror mode visuals now on the comment layer; so that they are not visible in-game - can no longer drive up walls in the ice level + some physics performance improvements in the ice level - when pressing A/X/space to unpause; the game will now wait for the button release before unpausing, to prevent accidental jumps - caught and fixed another grind rail erroneous trick landing Comments, questions, just wanna bother me, hop into discord :)

Say it ain't so! Wave Break will be launching with a BRAND NEW map, and a new song featuring Weezer!

"Tell Me What You Want" by Weezer is entirely stream safe, just like the rest of Wave Break's soundtrack! It can be used freely on Twitch, YouTube, and anywhere else without being blocked or losing monetization. Last but not least, the songs will be available to Twitch creators via its rights-cleared audio library, Twitch Soundtrack. In Weezy Mode, you'll have to really show your skills if you want to unlock special cosmetics and look just like Buddy Holly.
