about same, but with wine-staging-pba i need to run in dx10.1 mode dx11 mode gives just white layer of everything and shadows are messed up with dx10.1 as theres no nvidia PCSS shadow option.

i'll try to keep my terminal open next time crash occurs, maybe i can spot something whats causing it. It would be perfectly playable if those crashes were fixed :P

Did you try with wine3.5 (non-staging)? I know staging branch breaks the DXVK on Witcher3 but the regular wine works just fine. :P

45+ minutes played now without any crashes with the latest DXVK (r876.a2f0546) https://haagch.frickel.club/files/dxvk/r876.a2f0546/64/bin/ - seems fine also no more stuttering also, seems all shaders nicely cached. edit: played 3+ hours in row yesterday, no crashes. The crashes might have been happening because of shader caching and it somehow locked up completely, or it might have been that the newer dxvk fixed it.

While it's nice to see that GTA V sort of runs at least on Nvidia, I'm not sure where you got your environment variables from. DXVK_SPIRV_OPT=ON: Doesn't even exist in the code. DXVK_SHADER_OPTIMIZE=1: Removed a while ago, has no effect. And finally: DXVK_SHADER_DUMP_PATH="/home/xpander/SSDGames/DXVK-testing/shaders/GTA5" DXVK_SHADER_READ_PATH="/home/xpander/SSDGames/DXVK-testing/shaders/GTA5" This is complete nonsense, and if anything, it *increases* shader compile times. What this does is tell DXVK to write shaders to a file, then read them from the very *same* file. These options exist for debugging and debugging only. Don't use them for anything else.

yeah i know they are gone, i just had them on from old times to make Hellblade work (though i thought SHADER_OPTIMIZE=1 is still there :)) and shader locations i use to just dump them to the place i prefer, so i can clear them with every version just in case, maybe its not needed. Just one suggestion dude, use DXVK_HUD=full instead of DXVK_HUD=1, it gives more info. Otherwise, awesome video

Someone telling me in a post that GTA V runs great in WINE but he prefers San Andreas so someone should switch from Windows to Linux made me come and look at this and, if I didn't see that everything was on "high" at the start, I would've thought it was being run on the lowest possible settings. No wonder he was arguing in bad faith. GTA V in WINE makes San Andreas look like a cinematic experience.

Would it work on 12 gb ram, i3 processor and a 2 gb graphics card on lowest settings? It does on windows for me so I was wondering if it would still work

Ram and i3 cpu should be fine. 2gb vram might be a bit strwtch, but maybe 720p would work
