I recommend you using sxhkd instead of i3wm default bindsym, I used to break i3 all the time because of simple errors in syntax with keybindings and binding modes which doesn't happen with sxhkd additionally it comes with very neat features and it's very light so it never hurts. sxhkd github: https://github.com/baskerville/sxhkd

Congratulations crazy the video (content) .. I love Arch + Xfce4, but also i3. So I have both installed on lap top acer, but I use the i3 much more. I have both together in the same partition, so it looks like Arch + i3 with some xfce4 apps (like Thunar and etc). Brother I'm thinking here will be that runs xunbuntu + i3 + polybar? As I like to customize my desktop / interface a lot, on my i3 i have i3-gaps with polybar .... finally I will review your video calmly because I do not speak English (I'm translating it now in google translator, rsrsr) later I will get more content on the subject I want to try on my Arch .... a save straight from Brazil brother ...

Nice setup dude! I used Feeble Nerd's guide to get i3 gaps running inside Xfce on Manjaro, and have never been happier with my setup

I don't know why but the command "sudo apt install i3 wm" does not work. There is no package found. I ran bleachbit over the system, and then did "sudo apt-get update" and then I ran "sudo apt update". Then I tried the command sudo apt install i3 wm again. No wm package found. I opened up synaptic package manager and searched for i3 wm. Then I found "i3-wm". Is it supposed to be "i3-wm" ?

I also recommend Manjaro Architect. It setups I3wm for you. Just in case you wanna test it on a virtual machine or something.

Worked well, im still going to config my 2º monitor but so far so good! Despite gnome and kde being aweasome DEs, ive learned to respect a little more the xfce modularity, stability etc... to bad its kinda slow maintained now.

@@artesalve3233 yes zoom works if you mean inside the apps like firefox libreoffice etc right. Im not sure how xfce handles hidef monitors resolutions, check arandr app if you have troubles and enjoy!

@@Kyjorei POP is too much lke gnome right now.... and I can't stand gnome (don't knock it for OTHERS, just my preference)... but KDE allows the same tiling-- wish XFCE did (and NOT the stupid keyboard crap- that's not tiling- thats MOVING.. difference is one is keybanging hogwash and the other is automatic!! :) Again- just ME-- not trying to convince or change anyone else.

I see. In that case, you should maybe just switch over to PopOS and make it your default distro. If you're not into PopOS, here are some other options that have auto-tiling options after you configure them to do so: dwm bspwm i3wm with the following script: https://github.com/olemartinorg/i3-alternating-layout Sorry if all this isn't what you were looking for.
