Great video ! I agree with you about internet in general, social media are full of negativity, the best thing to do imo is to just stay where your friends are and thats it (a private Discord server for example), no need for Twitter, Reddit, forums etc (only for researchs).
On another note,I discovered your channel recently and its very cozy with a very good vibe, ans as a Linux newbie with an Nvidia GPU its also very helpful ! Thank you for all the content and take your time if you need a break or to disconnect a little, its always good.
Also I love your setup, I was wondering, how is Linux with that Ultrawide monitor ? I suppose your using i3WM, is it easy to use ? Do you think its a good alternative to a standard dual monitors setup ? For example if I want to use half the monitor for a game in 16:9 ratio and the other half for internet or Discord or OBS (similar to the way you show it in the video) do you think its easy to setup ? And should I use a tiling wm to achieve this (Im currently using Linux Mint Cinnamon) ?
Thanks again for the content have a great day !

Much appreciated. To be completely honest, I enjoy my i3wm setup on this monitor. Everything works well when using multiple applications, but some programs (like GIMP for example) might look strange when they are the only program open on the ultrawide. The simple remedy is to adjust the application's window size, or use a shortcut to make the application a floating window instead of tiled. Some people hate this, but it hasn't bothered me in the 5+ years that I've been using it. Gaming is only an issue if the developer of the game hasn't included 21:9 and/or 32:9 support. If that's the case, you can just play in a borderless window side-by-side with another application (as demonstrated in the video above), or adjust your screen resolution (and on-board monitor settings) to accommodate the game in 16:9 fullscreen. OBS and Discord adjust flawlessly for me on this monitor with i3wm, but my use-case might be different from yours. For your described use-case, I don't think you necessarily *need* a tiling window manager, but it wouldn't hurt anything to give it a try for a few weeks. If I am not mistaken, Cinnamon allows users to "snap" windows to the left, right, top, or bottom of the screen. I think this is useful for up to 2 applications and doesn't have much of a learning curve, but I usually have at least 3 windows on this monitor at a time when doing work. I recommend checking out just 1 video demo of each tiling window manager you're interested in trying, then giving each one a test drive (maybe in a virtual environment if you're nervous about changing too many things on your host machine), and once you've chosen the one you like, dive into its documentation and experiment with the things you care about. i3wm does everything I need it to, but your mileage may vary. Apologies for the lengthy response, but I hope the details help!

There's nothing inherently wrong with Internet opinions, but they can be the thieves of joy. Looking up how to beat a level in a game without first attempting it ourselves robs us of the experience of discovery. Some of the best games, books, and travels I've experienced were somehow completely hated by hordes of individuals online, and I wouldn't find out until later. Over time, I started looking up reviews and opinions about absolutely everything I had any vested interest in and couldn't figure out why nothing felt fun or engaging anymore.
After a while of refraining from asking others what they thought about a matter, I started asking myself what I thought. It was irritating at first because it felt like a waste of time and I could get an answer more quickly online, but after a while, I had random jolts of excitement every time I fixed, discovered, or figured something out on my own.
Your mileage may vary, and since my opinion is yet another opinion on the Internet, it's best you don't take it as gospel.
Give thanks.
