Can you create a FULL installation of arch linux & all drivers & everything & gui etc ? And recreate the tutorial for every major arch update please please !! I want to get started with arch linux but the time needed is 50 hours + to get all the things going. If you can not do such thing then can you point me to some good tutorial or documentation ? Arch linux wiki is not good i thing, way too complicated.

+Platwn Ace He has a fantastic and FULL manual install two part series on his website (and Youtube). Additionally Arch Linux does not have versions - it is a rolling release distribution so 'sudo pacman -Syu' will bring you completely up do date. As for installing and configuring drivers - you will have to get comfortable with the ArchWiki. Arch Wiki is your friend. Devices are too numerous.

Thanks so much for the guide, I stumbled upon a very annoying issue that isn't covered here and I was finally able to get around it. Basically, by doing everything as you say and then booting in any desktop environment that supports the networkmanager applet, the applet is able to do everything by itself and it just needs your wifi password, but what happens when you're right after a fresh basic installation or when you don't want to use a graphical desktop environment at all (in my case I haven't even installed xorg yet)? In this situation the applet can't start automatically at boot so you must manually tell networkmanager to get to work by using this command in the terminal:
nmcli dev wifi connect "name of your wifi device" password "password of the wifi device"
If everything goes right, it should say that the wifi device has been successfully activated and you can immediately test the connection with the ping command.
The funny thing is that I had already tried the nmcli command but the first time it gave some errors and didn't do anything and now I think it was because I hadn't already disabled the dhcpcd and netctl services, which were the cause of all the problems. I'd be very glad if you would include this little insight in your next version of the guide, and finally here is the networkmanager Wiki page there are other useful commands for managing your wifi with just the terminal: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NetworkManager
Thanks again for your work.

I need to remember this command. First time ever installing Arch, first time setting it up, and I still don't know how much of my usage will be in a window manager, but at least I know I'll have internet access throughout it all, without running iwd over and over.

Important for people who are having problems connection on a secured network: Ok, so here is a quick mention that I wish you could have brought up for people on WPA2-PSK [AES/TKIP/Enterprise] network's. When typing the command wifi-menu -o and connected to a network you music perform additional actions in order to get a working connection it's fairly well documented and a bit complected but feel free to check it out under the "netctl" section in the Arch Linux Docs, and just look for section the section "3.3.2 Wireless (WPA-PSK)" which should be helpful. Good God I wish they had a much more efficient way of connecting without any of these annoying to setup configs. If you don't want to go through all of that you can simply just make your wi-fi network for the time being of the installation and get everything properly working later.

Hey everyone, Thought I'd throw a little comment out there. I was having trouble installing networkmanager, I followed the instructions of Part 2 (thanks gloriouseggroll) and I couldnt keep my wifi connect with "wifi-menu". Each time I rebooted it would disconnect and unless i chrooted into the system from the usb I couldnt get wifi-menu without "Dialog". so in order to move around this here's what you do.
1) boot from the usb and mount your drives as state in the Part 2 video for installing arch.
2)use "wifi-menu" to connect to your wireless.
3) chroot into the system (same as in part 2) with "arch-chroot /mnt"
4) use "pacman -S networkmanager" to install network manager (since you're connected you'll be able to this time)
5) exit the chroot, reboot the system as you normally would
6) use the command line feature to connect to your wifi, "nmcli dev wifi connect
password "
Also to show the wifi networks available use "nmcli dev"
you can find all this info @
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NetworkManager
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WBB8v-tiz8&feature=youtu.be
and this video.
Thanks Glorious!

you have to go back in with your usb live cd and connect to the internet again with either ethernet or wifi-menu, mount the drives, and run "pacman -S networkmanager" for some reason it looks like NetworkManager isn't included with base and base-devel anymore like he explained in the video. after you have it installed you can go back and follow the video like normal

I followed the instructions exactly as you did and I had a problem. I could connect with network manager but it always forg ot my password and never connect by itself, I needed to do it each time I restarted the computer or just log out. What I did to solve it was going to /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and look for "[main]". I just had:
[main]
plugins=keyfile
So I added "plugins=ifupdown" and it worked fine
Hope this helps someone :)

I got to says, your video on archlinux are a serious help, definitly the best one I have found to date !
It would be nice to put that part for those that can't find their wireless adapter.
Well, for those that can't see their wifi card adapter:
**Need internet for this part
lspci -k: network controller is broadcom corporation "BCM43142" in my case
sudo pacman -S linux-headers : for the sake to install the driver
yaourt -S broadcom-wl-dkms : because this match the driver my laptop need
sudo reboot
if everything are rigth, you should be able to see your wireless with ip link
then do the rest of the tutorial GloriousEggroll has done
It worked for me and it can also be a good beginning to help if you don't know how to search your wireless adapter

I had picked up an old Thinkpad for free and did not do so well setting up the video in Arch Linux , tried Manjaro everything worked first shot and I wanted to see how bad wifi would be.

Situation: Im using Arch linux armv7l on pi4. system will be rebooted every 2 weeks. I only have worked with Rapsbian desktop. lsusb is showing my WI-PI usb wifi adapter. Bus 001 Device 003: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter.
I have no idea how to get my USB adapter working. I only see the onboard pi's 2.4/5GHz wlan0.
Iwconfig is showing wlan0 and wlp1s0u1u1. How do i disable the onboard wifi and use the wlp1s0u1u1 wifi adapter.

Arch evangelists love to dunk on Manjaro but boy is it better at stuff like this. Why in the world is there no wi-fi controls when installing the xfce bundle through arch? I get not including extra cruft but being able to control basics like Wi-Fi should always be included.
