linux in 2023 will be insane things I predict will happen: RADV gets graphics pipeline library (for sure) tearing updates on wayland (for sure) proton 8.x (for sure) Steam OS 3 for PCs, updated big picture mode (for sure) HDR (probably will happen mid-late 2023, if not it will happen in 2024) steam deck 2 announcements or hints or something ??? I wonder how accurate these will be the rate at which things are progressing is getting faster by the week, and by the end of 2024, I think Linux will be an objectively better experience than windows

@@MrKilljay I think that would be neat but I think Valve has too many scars for that, I expect they will focus on releasing the ISO and work directly with companies like miniforums to optimize it for their boxes

@@Fafhrd42 I could also see them announcing a Steam Console with way more power than the Deck, for those who don't care about portability. A Steam Controller 2 would pair nicely too.

@@Fafhrd42 for sure, I guess with the success of the deck you could see them fast tracking it but I just think they should treat it like console hardware and do it every 5-6 years or so, that justifies the 400+ dollar price tag, if they announce a steam deck 2 in February slated for August then it's a bit of a punch in the face to deck 1 owners, the index2/deckard will probably come out next year and the steam controller 2 could come out too before the deck 2, I'm excited for the deckard I hope it's relatively cheap say a few hundred less than the index and I hope for a PCVR focus, I'm not really fussed on the standalone stuff

@@crashdude7589 yeah, the 2 pieces of hardware that Valve are most likely to announce next will be the Deckard VR headset or a new Steam Controller that has a similar configuration to the Deck (dual thumbsticks, dual trackpads, four back paddles) so that people don't have to change control configs to play on the Deck when its docked.

yep, mine isnt too bad just the top right corner. mostly prominent in dark scenes/boot up screen. almost all decks will have it, so dont feel singled out!

They should make it easier to search for games that work well with steam deck. I use steam (store) for over a decade and still find it not very comfortable to use.
