Got it on PS5. Loving it so far! Definitely up there among my GOTY candidates together with Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.

Might pick this up after I finish Coromon

Yes, it plays full screen without stretching

I gifted Chained Echoes to my bf so he could play it on his Steam Deck, however, when he enters combat, it is apparently extremely laggy, to the point where it's unplayable. Every time he chooses an action it freezes for about 10-20 seconds. Was hoping to find some answers here, but so far just a few people have reported the same issue.

I get a frame drop when choosing actions every once in a while, but definitely not every time. Maybe try verifying local files or reinstalling

I have soooo many RPGs I want to get through. Currently working on Dragon Quest 11, but then I also need to play Persona 5 Royal , One Piece Odyssey in January, and now Chained Echoes!

Because I chose to lock it there. Lowering the FPS and refresh rate can extend battery life.

added it to my wish list since it's decently priced. But I'm not a huge turned based battle fan so I will probably never grab it.

The name didn't ring a bell, but when i saw the art and characters I remembered playing the demo and enjoying it!

I played this game from my Game Pass subscription. I immediately being fond of it. It has the perfect spot to make a retro style game in modern day. The graphic looks really nice on my 4K screen with the retro 16bit colour and pixel. But the pixel style artwork is still very beautiful with the benefit of higher resolution on modern screen. Beautiful music. Mattias Linda is wise to use high quality audio, instead of following the hardcore retro rule of using 16bit midi. Better sound quality wouldn’t ruin the retro feeling and mood. But the most important, it focuses on the story! That’s how legendary retro games fascinate people. Great story and excellent storytelling. Good rhythm on the story pace. I decided to own this game on Steam even though I played it on Game Pass account. Good choice Liam! And well done Mattias Linda and his backers.
